HDX on titles not yet released to Blu Ray

There are a couple of titles that I'm thinking about buying that are available in HDX, but they havent officially been released on Blu-Ray yet, according to bluray.com

    The Titles are:
    The Devil and Max Devlin
    Flight of the Navigator

Has anyone bought movies where this has been the case? Was the quality good?

My only concern would be how did they get a 1080p scan of the movie if one supposedly hasn't been produced yet?

I have Idiocracy bought on here and that isn't (or at least wasn't) on blu-ray. It looks a proper 1080p transfer.

I see Flight of the Navigator Blu-ray on Amazon as an import. I got this one a while back in HDX.

The opening with the credits was pretty bad, with lots of film artifacts. The rest of the movie was decent quality. It's not up to the level of current movies (remember this was the 80's), but I have no complaints. I rarely buy SD, but this one I'm not sure you're getting the stunning quality you expect from HDX.

There are thousands of movies that have 2k (or better) scans that have not been released on optical media yet. Studios are slowly creating High Definition masters for their archives, as well as tv and streaming and other purposes.

The non-existence of a Blu-ray is not an indicator that a particular title does not have an HD master available.

If you ever have a question about the quality, most films have a 2 minute preview on vudu that might allow you to sample the quality.
