Apparently not so much. I converted Sherlock Holmes A Game of Shadows to Uhd almost a month ago and it showed Uhd in my collection until yesterday. Today I log in and it's just hdx. Hopefully a system glitch. But frustrating nonetheless

You're right. I just looked at my account and the same thing happened. I converted both Sherlock Holmes movies to UHD and now they're only showing HDX. I paid money for those upgrades, so VUDU better either fix that or issue a refund.

I had lego movie in my store cart and it converted to HDX. UHD is no longer available on D2D.

Mine did the same. That's fine, but what's BS is VUDU taking away UHD copies I'd already purchased and not issuing a refund. That's a bait-and-switch. You either honor that mistake(assuming the UHD D2D option was a mistake) or give my money back.

I owned both Sherlock Holmes Movies in HDX too, purchased UHD, now they are gone without a purchasing option.
No announcement, no email, no refund... nothing
              That isn't acceptable.

It was explained to me that there was a bug in the system that allowed it and that bug is now fixed... *shrug

Re: Vudu UHD 4K is here!

It seems Vudu is not putting the UHD titles for sale along with the HDX, HD & SD sales. For instance, I just checked Jupiter Ascending which is on sale for $9.99 HDX but still has the UHD version for $29.99. Why don't they mark all the resolutions down? Maybe again it's the studio?

                      697 HDX
                      2 HD
                      2 SD

Personally I think if you own HDX copies of these films, the 4K versions should be unlocked free of charge to Vudu customers. I refuse to purchase all of my films AGAIN! I've done this for VHS, DVD, BLURAY, then Digital HDX... It's outrageous to have to buy my movie collection again when the entire purpose of me going digital & using Ultraviolet was to own my films for life & never have to buy the next physical format hollywood pushes on us. We only live once & to have to buy the same films over & over is a bit absurd.

For what other consumer product do they give you a free upgrade when new versions are released?

Oftentimes with software, you can get a free or reduced cost upgrade to the next version.

I think you know the answer to this, based on "I've done this for VHS, DVD, BLURAY, then Digital HDX... " Did they give you break when upgrading to any of those formats? I fully expect some sort of discount on some titles but no way is Disney going to budge on that. What incentive would the studio have to upgrading their encodes if they were giving the away for free? I don't think UV ever promised that you won't have to pay for the movie again.

For a vast majority of people HDX would be fine. Hell DVD's have not been replaced by Blu-ray. I doubt most consumers are going to be able to tell the difference between 4K and 1080p especially on smaller screens. Plus are the studios going to spend the money to redo all of their old catalog? Probably not.

I agree with you there as I think there was a big difference going from SD to HD but the difference is not as noticeable going from HD to UHD.
