The Fandango at Home Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Fandango at Home experience. Here, Fandango at Home customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Fandango at Home and Fandango at Home -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc). Although the primary purpose of these forums is to help Fandango at Home customers with questions and/or problems with their Fandango at Home service, there are also off-topic areas available within the Fandango at Home Forums for users to chat with like-minded people, subject to the limitations below.

2 minute preview gone???

    2 minute preview gone???

    Is the 2 minute preview function gone? No titles show the option to do that anymore on my computer. I used that so much and I really would like it back.

    2 Minute Preview option is no longer available from the web and LG/Samsung using HTML5 due to us using a new video streaming technology.

      Felipe,

      If I may make a suggestion, the two minute preview might be more helpful if it came from later in the film instead of being the first two minutes. Often it only shows you the production company logo and some of the credits. This often isn't enough info to go by.

        Unfortunately, the studios won't give us much leeway when it comes to the 2 minute preview.

          May I ask what new streaming technology you are using? Is it HTML5? If so, hooray!!

          In a related matter, How about listing the aspect ratio of the film on the summary?

            Might I suggest you find a workaround? The 2 minute preview is often the thing that makes or brakes a purchase. If I can't established if a film is in the correct aspect ratio or what the audio format is, I won't purchase it. It's the reason I purchase through VUDU instead of Amazon, Google, or iTunes. If we lose the 2 minute preview, I'm less likely to blind buy titles, especially since the the "More Info" section isn't always accurate on the audio specs and doesn't list aspect ratio at all.


            This is a VITAL feature that moved me away from iTunes to VUDU years ago. Don't be shortsighted and thinks its an unimportant feature (it's not)... find an updated solution or expect me to spend less money with VUDU.

                As long as there continues to be movies in the wrong ratio (cropped), some incorrectly stretched, video-originated material in the wrong frame rate, and many in 2-channel or mono sound when they should be 5.1, the two-minute preview is ESSENTIAL so that we can catch these before spending money on them. It was also helpful in checking the exact running times. I know Amazon Video had a similar free preview function many years ago but got rid of it; if faulty encodes aren't going to be fixed or pulled then they had better be prepared to give immediate refunds if someone purchases a title sight unseen and there's anything wrong with it. (I noticed a digital glitch during the first minute of "The Muppet Movie" which was helpful in deciding to avoid that title.)

                          Yes Felipe, this is one of the things that distinguished Vudu from the other streaming providers. Please bring it back especially if it's a Vudu decision and not the studios.

                            Not only was the preview loved, but also needed to verify quality of a potential purchase. Removal of this feature will cause vudu to be legally liable to the customer and will have to issue refunds if there is an issue with the customer's satisfaction of the rental or purchase due to issues that could've been detected before the purchase with the preview.

                              How about we get the 2 minute preview back, and have REAL trailers? So tired of clicking to watch a trailer and all it has is the first 1-2 minutes of a movie. What the heck is that about!
