Yes. We are working to redesign our software to work on the phone. Currently our software can only work on tablet.

I can't promise much but it is one of the top priority. We understand the great demand of phone support.

I will post here if there is a version to be ready for Beta test.

          Thanks,

Glad to hear that a version for Android phones is in the works. I'm a developer with a Galaxy Nexus, happy to help with beta testing. Feel free to ping me when you have something.

Re: Updated: Vudu comes to Android!

Today we released a newer version 1.3.203. This version addresses several stability issues.

              Release Notes for version 1.3.203:
              - Fixed app crashes during usage
              - proper error message for max device limit of 5 per account. (used to be error #3329).
              - Fixed the issue of unable to download as it stucks in preparing state.

Known issues on version 1.3.203 (VUDU is working on fixes):
              - If the app was running and user upgrades to this version it may cause the app in unstable state. Please force close VUDU app before or after upgrade.
              - Swiftkey keyboard prevents password input. Current workaround is to switch to Android keyboard.
              http://support.swiftkey.net/forums/1...s-in-password-
              - If your device has Adobe AIR app installed, older versions of AIR may interfere with VUDU. We strongly recommend upgrade to latest AIR version from the Play Store or uninstall AIR.
              - Devices upgraded from Android 2.3, and those 4Gb tablet may have issue with insufficient storage.

Note: there is issue with Facebook login and it is Facebook issue. There is a fix and waiting to roll out next Tues.

When the app is available for cells, is there any chance it will have 3D support for 3D capable phones + tablets?

It's unlikely for 3D that I can predict.

When can we expect HD playback? Seeing as I can buy from Google Play and get at LEAST 720p playback it's rather frustrating to be limited to SD when I bought an HD movie. I should at least be able to pick the definition I want to download.

Re: Updated: Vudu comes to Android!

I've been checking back to see if there's been any updates lately (beyond 1.3.203) for the app since the performance on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 (VZW - i815 device) is so bad within the Vudu app.

I can run CinemaNow's app, or the Flixster app and both work very well, but the Vudu app drops frames like crazy and just looks (and sounds) bad by comparison.

I was rejoicing when the app showed up as available, then seriously disappointed with how badly it performed for me and just avoid using it for now. I'm hoping that a new version will improve things.

Note, I'm still stuck on ICS, not JellyBean ROM as VZW and Samsung have both dragged their feet (and butts) on getting out updates for this tablet. I'd like to think the performance would be much better with JB, what with the optimizations that went into same.

                          .
                          Hi,

Please let me know if the previous version 1.2.205 worked better for you. I don't believe we introduce any performance enhancement or modification in any of those. We have to depend on Adobe Air and it's not the same with CinemaNow or Flixster and we are working to fix that.

In the meantime, can you check to see if you have enough memory available for VUDU. The app can use up to 260MB and it's slow with lesser memory.

In addition, do you have any existing installation of Adobe Air to upgrade? If so please do upgrade Air to current version.

I am really want to see how we can improve your experience as we don't have that issue even for ICS.

                          Thanks,
                          LLN

We are using Adobe Air and it's not approved by studios for HD playback. We are working on the solution.

How would I get back to an older version?

I'll try to check on the memory that is available and report back on that.

On the Adobe Air question, I had read through this thread previously and wound up installing (hoping it might help the situation) Adobe Air separately *after* having these issues so it should be the most current version available.

I would note that one of the competing UV partner apps offered a "Settings" feature to bump up the memory used for caching playback. I made sure that was set fairly high in that app though it wasn't having problems to begin with. I assumed that more cache memory within the app would be helpful to the app

Just confirmed that I was above 260MB of available RAM (stopped a batch of apps that were running but were cached) and tested again with a movie that I had downloaded to the device (Mars Attacks), same poor results. Dropped frames and general stuttering in the app.

I'm running the most current ICS ROM on the device (stock, VZW/Samsung ROM), just to confirm that status.

By the way, a co-worker has a Nexus 7" tablet and did test with me. In his case, the app worked great with no stuttering/dropped frames.
