I haven't a clue if episode 4 will end up being UV. The vudu tweet says it will, but as you pointed out, the link in the vudu store lacks the UV symbol. And another person pointed out that releases don't always get their UV symbol until they are released.

If anything, I'm sad about this release of Star Wars. It shows more about the state of UV than I want to admit. 90 bucks for 6 films, 3 films in their less desirable versions, while the other 3 films aren't that desirable in any format. For 90 dollars, the distribution isn't even 100% ultraviolet or DMA. Once the non sale price is the standard price, it will even seem more ridiculous to buy this collection.

If Disney wants to sell me a copy, Disney should get off their high horse and allow this collection to be available in ultraviolet. I'm really trying to get way from physical media entirely. While releases like this continue to tie me to physical media until the digital situation is more concise and less convoluted. This isn't a knock on Vudu, they're doing what they can to make this happen. This is about the studios. Ultimately, for digital to thrive and survive, the studios are going to have to knock down a couple of these digital hurdles they've constructed.

Not sure if this has already been brought up, but will the films be available through disc to digital? Considering disney doesn't offer it for any of their other films I doubt it but I thought with Fox being involved it might be a possibility.

All that means is you'll get six bundle icons instead of one. Even the "individual" movies are bundles of the movie and its bonus features; you can't buy just the movie. The big bundle puts all six movies, plus ALL of their bonus features, under one icon.

              A couple of questions before I pre-order

1.Does anyone know if these will be new transfers or are they using the same ones from the BR release?

The reason why is this from the Digital Bits- It's fairly common knowledge that the Blu-rays were mastered from the same HD scans that were used for the DVD release back in 2004. That means these transfers are at least 8 years old - very far from state of the art. To make matters worse, those scans were done at near HD resolution - not the 4K, 6K, or even 8K of current negative scans for film restoration and BD release purposes, but essentially 2K

              http://www.thedigitalbits.com/item/s...-complete-saga

              2. Are these going to be shown in their original Aspect Ratio?

I only ask because both Raiders and Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom being shown in 1:78 instead of their true Aspect Ratio of 2:40, that has kept me from buying them on Vudu.

A New Hope will be UV enabled.

The rest of films will be DMA enabled.

Hey DanielH. Do you know if the separate films will be available to purchase without the special features? I hate having the little "+Bonus Features" bar at the top of the artwork.

Thanks; I trust you saying that more than I do the Twitter feed.

One more question: A post just appeared in another forum where a competitor's CSR claimed Eps IV-VI in this set will be the original 1977-80 versions (the "Unaltered Original Trilogy" or UOT), instead of the 1997 & later "special editions" that appeared on Blu-ray (and with one exception on DVD). I seriously doubt that -- if so, why didn't Disney say so in its announcement? -- but I'm sure a lot more people would buy it if it was the UOT. (I'm on the fence as is, but if it's the UOT I'm definitely in.) Will this be the UOT, or as I suspect the "special editions" again?

Im not saying i dont want bonus features that was someone else. Want the movies with bonus features listed seperately then all 6 movies in one icon. People dont want to pay 30 extra to buy individually to get this. Its not just me but alot of people. Just cause we buy as a bundle doesnt mean we want it listed that way for organization etc.
