    VUDU Labs

Any way to connect to the online streaming such as Hulu or even the network sites - then we can watch TV shows that we missed when the dang DVR doesn't record event though it should have!!

I could even do away with the high priced cable then (or at least the DVR)

you need to get a TiVo.

I've used seventeen TiVos since 2001 and the number of missed recordings can be counted on one hand.

I just have a hard time throwing out that dough for a DVR - though my neighbor has it and I must say it is pretty sweet and I may just have to bite the bullet! But it would be great for Vudu to connect to Hulu like Youtube.

        I agree.
But have you tried the PLAYOn software. I use that on my PC to allow access from my 360's or PS3 to watch Hulu, CBS, YouTube etc.

Thats great! Bus since I don't play video games, I would have to buy a game system just for the tv shows! Can they integrate "PLAYOn" with Vudu? I don't want to keep adding boxes to my home entertainment center, would be nice for the existing boxes to do more...

You either are not counting or you don't watch series that are crammed in after major league sporting events like The Unit. Grrrr. (West Coasters don't have that issue nearly as often, but I know you're in my neck of the woods, relatively.)

Yes I'm counting correctly. any shows that might follow live events, like currently Fringe which follows American Idol. I put extra time in the season pass so I don't miss anything. But a live show end time cannot be known in advance for a DVR. I'm talking about just missing a regular recording. My brothers cable box misses recordings every month. Anytime there is a conflict it decides to not record anything, which makes no sense. With TiVo you have the Season Pass priority, which of course prioritizes the recordings.

I was just griping about the networks, really. I'm very happy with the TiVo's scheduling abilities. Besides not blocking enough time for sporting events or cutting or stretching the post-game shows enough, they also have been letting American Idol run over, and I missed the last minute of Fringe before I extended that recording.

I also agree it would be perfect to add Hulu to Vudus capabilities. I have my PC and my Vudu box connected to my tv so I can switch off when I feel like it. I jumped on board with Vudu because I feel everything is going to be on demand/ internet based/ downloadable content path anyway, and any disc based media will be more less done away with. The HDX prices are a little high i feel at times...but doesn't seem to bad for the most part. The quality is very good for downloadable content, and the convienence that vudu offers is awesome.

I watched Gran Torino in HD format 2 nights ago and was pretty impressed with the quality for being able to watch it instantly. I purchased another movied in HDX and really love the quality of that as well. The only wish I have is that the HDX format be a little cheaper for new movies...lets say 4.99 instead of 5.99. I would probably be renting more than I am if that was the case. The purchase price for HDX movies is ok to me..since its cheaper than BLUray, yet you dont get any special features either though...
