I request all title be put on Vudu

And once here stay here in HDX never to leave or be downgraded to SD! Oh, and when buying a 3D movie we also get the 2D option with it. There, now that I requested every title to be on Vudu I think everyone will be happy and we don't need this section as part of the forum any more ;-)

I can't help but think of that little button on the corner of the street that triggers the light that someone wants to cross the street. Like pushing that button is really going to do some good! At least where I live it just makes you feel like you have the power to STOP ALL TRAFFIC just so you can cross the street! SO asking for a title here seems almost the same, it will get here when it gets here and just because someone asks doesn't mean that movie is going to get her any faster or just for them lol! At least that is my thought, am I wrong? If I am I will surely post my most wanted titles and will check back to see if my request has been filled. ;-)

Re: I request all title be put on Vudu

Well the problem is that all movies are never going to be placed on D2D/Vudu due to licensing agreements and secondly, if all movies were to be placed onto vudu/D2D, then they won't all drop out of the sky at once. What you are saying for deleting the single requests (which for the record D2D requests are useless as they are trying their best with talking to companies to get movies onto D2D: so stop requesting D2D titles, it doesn't work like that) of say:

"I request that "The Cure" be put onto vudu" (in your opinion) is useless because all movies should be put on here. Well, when they start putting ALL movies on and the next thing you know is there are now 500+ barbie movies and 500+ care bears movies in the queue before anything good comes, then I will be laughing and you will be complaining. Everything takes time and it takes:

    1) Time to convert into a cff file to play here
    2) Storage
    3) Bandwidth
    4) Licensing agreements (with not only the companies but the owners of older movies: Example: Star Wars. Lucas says no and the company has nothing to stop his statement)
    5) Time to upload: Meaning there will be a queue. They are asking US what movie we want added next TO THE QUEUE. Me saying "The Cure" is helpful and beneficial. You saying EVERYTHING could lead to the next 2000 movies released being barbie and barney movies. Which would NOT be cool. So no, I do not want every movie added, and I respect that they are asking us for requests.

I was sort of being sarcastic but on the other hand this is owned by Walmart and they can do anything! ;-)

I knew your post was sarcastic Trance. It did get a laugh out of me at the time.

        But...
Who gets to determine what's good and what's bad? If Barbie and Care Bears made Vudu money, they'd do it. Who are you to say they're not good? If they sold, somebody thinks they're good.

I think the goal should be making VUDU an archive of sorts. Granted I probably don't care about movies that were released 50 years or more ago and your comment on Care bears is also a good point however if I had a little girl that might be good lol. I don't see anything wrong with making VUDU an archive of movies and shows.

I mean I get it. I grew up listening to 80's music and now into Trance/Techno. The music my Granma listens to is not what I will listen to when I'm her age. When I'm 90 and the Grandkids come over I'll be jamming out to the music I grew up with and the music of my Grandparents and their Grandparents will almost be forgotten (I guess) and so the same with movies. I really don't care about Black and White Movies, I care about movies from when I was a kid till now. Why add movies from 60 years ago that no one will watch. The saving History part of me thinks VUDU should be that archive but I do agree, why?

How do you know no one will watch those very early movies? It's a big world. You can't know what everyone's interests are. People still listen to Beethoven and Tchaikovsky. Heck, "Wizard of Oz" came out in 1939, right? That movie is a bit older than my parents, and it still hits the TV schedule. I don't think any one person can make the determination that no old movies should be made available. Obviously it'd be Vudu that decides what they'll carry, and I'm sure it will be profit driven. Vudu exists to make the company money, like and other company. There's nothing wrong with that.
