Request mighty morphin power rangers:the movie 1995

With the new release of Power Rangers in theaters I think having the original movie on here would be great. You already sell turbo and have multiple episodes from the series. Is this something that is being considered?

Seriously VUDU, how can you have the new Power Rangers movie up for pre-order and NOT even have the 1995 movie yet?

What if there happen to be some older fans who dislike the new movie for some reason and want to own the older movie instead? Just because you may not remember that the 1995 movie exists doesn't mean that THEY don't, and it's unfair to always neglect older movies for everything that's new. There should always be older alternatives available for any newly rebooted franchise to please all sides of the fanbase, like "Burton Batman vs Nolan Batman", "1990 TMNT vs 2014 TMNT", and of course: "1995 Power Rangers vs 2017 Power Rangers".

And what is the point of even having a forum to request titles if VUDU doesn't even listen to us 90% of the time?

it's not always as simple as just add the movie. They have to acquire the rights and a get an encode from the studio

If they can acquire Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie from FOX, then there's no excuse for them not to have the 1995 movie already when it was released by the same studio.

! main thing left out probably they dont want to put up power rangers the movie because it wont make enough MONEY! Thats why only turbo was the only movie they put up. Vudu saw the sales of Turbo were too poor or didnt meet value on turbo then its reasonable Vudu would not license the 2nd movie.

Personally I didnt like the movie enough to even rent or look it up on vudu and yes this is coming from a fan that watched all of the original power rangers, till lost galaxy, waited in line by toysrus to get the toys, and still has all the vhs original tapes of the green ranger sage.

Vudu should really finish licensing the original tv series mighty morphine till Zeo.

I asked about this recently on their Facebook page. Vudu replied by saying there was issues with the rights to the movie. This would explain why Amazon, iTunes and no other streaming service in the US has it for sale. I've seen it for sale on iTunes, but it's from other countries, not the US.

How would the 1995 Mighty Morphin movie not be a more popular pick on VUDU than Turbo when it's the most popular, well-known, and iconic incarnation of the franchise? That makes no sense. Maybe the Turbo movie doesn't sell well with people BECAUSE it's not as popular with fans as the 1995 movie.

I laughed at that comment too.

MMPR: The Movie - the budget was $15 million, it made $66.4 million

Turbo: A Power Rangers Movie - it made $9.6 million, couldn't find what its budget was, but I'm guessing it was more than what it made.

Power Rangers - so far the new movie has made $117.2 million from its $100 million budget.

I use to be an active member on RangerBoard, and we had many discussions about both movies, as well as talked to other fans not on the forum. Nearly all like the first one over Turbo. It is wasn't for the rights issues keeping the original from being added to all US streaming services, it would be up for sure. The only streaming service you can watch it on is HBO Go/Now, I don't know if Netflix still has it or not, I know they did a few years ago.

I never said anything about popularity or the original movie was unpopular so vudu didnt add it. I said turbo didnt make enough money or didnt meet Vudu's sales numbers, so they didnt want to risk losing money and made the smart move of not releasing the other movie. Maybe someone in vudu was thinking ahead and thought " if turbo movie doesnt give us enough money then maybe we should not license the original movie ". Even if the original movie is popular, but if the vudu sales are bad or doesnt meet the numbers vudu might not offer it or just quit selling it because not enough MONEY was earned. All I suggested was someone in Vudu was using Turbo as a test or way to convince them if "Turbo makes this much money sure lets license the 1995 movie or if hundreds of fans buy turbo its safe to say the original movie will do just as well or better in sales.

I say again Vudu might have just thought ahead of time and saw that maybe power rangers the 1995 movie wouldn't make enough money. You can say "this is the most popular power rangers movie ", but will it make enough money. Popularity among the fans is not the only factor that will tell us for sure power rangers the 1995 movie will make vudu rich or break even.

Popularity wont 100% say "1 billion vudu users bought powers the movie 1995 we made billions on just the STD version", sales numbers, number of users that bought the hdx/std versions or MONEY earned from Power Ranger the movie 1995 overall will tell us. Maybe turbo was a bad example to tell Money was a factor to consider but wouldn't u consider money as a factor or reason that Vudu is holding back? There are plenty of popular movies that fans like (for example street fighter 2 the animated movie), but like I keep saying if Vudu doesnt feel that Ivan OOze wont make them alot of money because of this reason, only a few guys want this on their wish list, only a couple guys bought it on vudu, etc, then Vudu wont do it.

Are u 1000% sure all or most of the Power Ranger fans will meet Vudu's MONEY expectations or make a profit that satisfies Vudus Wallet and investment? I Hope that clarifies things and makes it clear enough to see Money was a Factor Vudu considered.

Again, sales has nothing to do with this issue. As I have stated in my earlier post, Vudu already shared they would have the movie but there is rights issues with the title. I suggest you, and anyone else who would like to see it added, complain to both Fox and Saban. It also may have to do with music rights. I know a TV series that was on Vudu, but they had to leave one episode out due to the song that is mentioned (well, a character sung a line). After a few years they added the episode, but the entire scene has been removed from all digital streams of the episode.

There might be a Blu-ray release down the road. The movie received a 4K remaster.
