Coco - No center channel sound

    Coco - No center channel sound

    I use the Vudu app that is built into my LG SmartTV. Sound is sent from my TV to my Onkyo receiver through HDMI for 5.1 sound.

    With the movie Coco (HDX), sound is only coming from the front left/right speakers. There is no sound through the center channel speaker or rear speakers, even though my receiver states Dolby D when the movie is playing. I checked other films in my Vudu library, all play fine through every speaker.

    I contacted Vudu support and got the generic answer to reset my receiver and unplug the TV, of course none of that helped.

    Any ideas what is happening. Is Coco just not encoded on their end properly.

    I just spent about 10 minutes trying to figure this out too. I'm using a Vizio TV, and surround sound works correctly from other things on Vudu. It does look like they have a screwed up HDX encoding for Coco.

      Still not resolved. The strange thing is; my family watched the streamed film the first day it was released on bluray. I don't recall anything wrong with the sound. My daughter watched it again a few days later and didn't t notice a problem either. It wasn't until about a week after we purchased the film, that I noticed the sound wasn't correct. I noticed because we had a large get together and no one could hear the film; I had to turn up the volume 2x than I normally would.

      Someone just posted that Amadeus is also playing in stereo, despite his receiver saying otherwise. This is either an encoding issue or something wrong with Vudu's equipment.
