    Request: Subtitles Alignment=Centered

Request: Add "alignment=centered" to Closed Captions
please +1 this request, anyone who feels the same.

The closed captions on VUDU is such a mess. They "bounce around" randomly on the screen and don't stay centered. There are many settings for subtitles with fonts, colors, etc. Why is there no setting for "alignment = center"?
Every single player in the world (probably not an exaggeration) has the subtitles centered, except vudu.. I sent emails to support a few times about this and every time they say they haven't heard about this issue and "they'll send my support ticket to someone higher up, but then I never receive a response". I have a hard time believing they are unaware of this. It's almost like they see this annoying thing as a feature.

Vudu is great but the subtitles-issue is so annoying that I can't use it. (i'm slightly dyslectic and when the subtitles bounce around, I literally can't read it) I can't have the volume very loud because it disturbs my neighbors so I need subtitles on.

    Please fix this.

edit: I thought the smileys were "how does this make you feel" not something that would show up beside my post. I'm not actually that angry haha..

Not only is it not centered, sometimes is pops up in the middle of the picture. Happens on my Roku 3 on many movies. We always watch with subtitles on, because my wife is trying to learn english. Please fix this.

It's like this on every device I've tried. Iphone, ipad, macbook, windows laptop, vudu2go and Roku3
I don't think this is an "issue I'm having" I believe this is how Vudu handles subtitles overall. Friends I've asked have the same experience, it just doesn't bother them as much. I'm sure if you waych a full movie with subtitles you'll nodice it too.

Honestly, why bother asking if you aren't interrested in the answer? This is what Vudu support has done to me every single time I've asked about this. I get the question "which device are you experiencing this issue with?" And when I respond and say that this is how every device behaves, Vudu goes quiet. This is the fourth time. I've been asking about this for two years. Please, atleast give me a response.

            Re: Request: Subtitles Alignment=Centered

The closed captions are displayed in the position, font, color, etc as specified by the studios. The "bouncing around" is intentional, it's meant to indicate which character on screen is saying the line, or in the case of commentary often at the top of the screen, etc.

This is very standard for closed captions. Go turn them on for a broadcast network TV show and see - VUDU uses the same caption info.

It might be intentional but it doesn't work very well. The subtitles show up everywhere and not always by the character saying the lines. A lot of times the placement is completely random, and since it bounces around so much, people with reading disabilities have a very hard time following.
Even if you call it standard, it's also just as standard to have centered subtitles. There should be a way to turn this setting on/off. Please let the user choose. If it's info in the closed captions, it should be very easy to add a setting for "ignore closed captions positioning" or something like that. Please look into it

                Re: Request: Subtitles Alignment=Centered

There is no +1, but I would like to see this also. I would like it to be bottom left aligned, though; a ragged left margin has been shown to be harder to follow, as we are used to returning to the same spot when scanning a new line, as we do in print. This is how TV captioning often works in my experience, when they're not trying to indicate who is speaking by position.

However, while it would be nice if they did that, in the meantime your other option is to use headphones. If you have a Roku 3, you have a headphone jack right on the remote. If not, you can get wireless headphones for under $100, or if budget is an issue, you can get a long extension cord for headphones for $5-10. I know it's not ideal, but it might be an improvement for you in the meantime.

Headphones don't work when you are using closed captions because english is not your first language. My wife speaks pretty good english, but sometimes they speak too fast, and she can't understand, so she needs the closed captions. I really wish they would fix it.

Another +1 for this. Both iTunes and Amazon Video allow you to place them centered at the bottom of the screen. The bouncing around makes you constantly have to try to find them as people are speaking. In fact, I think most Blu-rays do too.
