Same issue here. Samsung TV, Terminator Dark Fate UHD. Video freezes while audio continues. Pausing, rewinding doesn?t help. Exiting playback and then resuming play fixes it temporarily, but then video freezes again after 3-5 minutes.

Same issue with Jumanji Next Level UHD and Star Wars Rise of Skywalker UHD.

Setting the movie to HDX playback allowed me to watch Terminator Dark Fate without any further issues.

Same issue with Rise of Skywalker, Fantasy Island, Birds of Prey, etc. Pretty much any UHD that I attempt to play.

          Samsung QN55Q8FNB
          Software 1292 (no update available)

          Vudu Player Version 312749.53
          Widget Version 7.5.42 (42-2e6e8fbd)

Same issue as other Samsung users. Unable to stream any UHD content for more than 30-90 seconds before the video freezes yet the audio continues uninterrupted.

I will add that in March 2020 I was watching my UHD movies with no issues. It was sometime after Harley Quinn was released that I began seeing the issues. Yes HDX plays fine, took a month before hearing back from support to suggest trying that. However, that's not a solution, not really. I would have just purchased HDX if I wanted to watch 1080p.

Prime and YouTube play 4k content without issue for me. I have gone through every step given to me via Support with no luck. Some of those steps multiple times. Today I received another follow up from a different support rep suggesting the exact same steps I was given in early April. Sigh.

Samsung has identified the issue with their current firmware on some of their TVs. They are in the process of testing a firmware fix. There is no ETA on when Samsung will roll out the fix due to COVID-19. In the meanwhile, some users have reported that a HARD power-cycle (unplugging the TV from the power outlet, waiting a minute and plugging back in) does help with streaming UHD content.

I'm having the same problem with both birds of Prey and good boys. Looks like it's really most of my UHD movies. Also using a Samsung TV

I to have the same problem. Samsung TV, UN65NU7100F. Played Rise of Skywalker, Gentlemen, Justice League Dark. All 4k. All freezes (but audio plays) around a minute in. Did a hard reboot on the TV, nothing change. Did VUDU update the Samsung app yet?

I have the same issue 2020-06-06, Star Wars Rise of Skywalker 4k UHD playing with Dolby Atmos on. Freezes very consistently after 4 minutes of playing. TV: Samsung Q8FN series. Called Samsung three times, the first two reps confirmed there was an issue and tried to send me an updated firmware 1294.1. This did not fix the issue. Third rep blamed the issue on VUDU and would not address the issue at all.
After reading here I'm pretty sure it's Samsung's problem but they are now trying to pass the buck and not fix it.

Samsung put out a firmware update yesterday and I’m still experiencing this issue on all UHD content. This has only recently started happening to me in the past 2 weeks. Before that i never experienced a problem.

I just purchased the UHD version of Doctor Sleep, and the same thing happens when I try to watch it! It’ll play for like 30 seconds, then the video will freeze, but the sound still plays. I have a 82” Samsung TV. If I would’ve know this would happen, I would’ve just bought the HDX version!

This happens to me also, on any UHD movie I try to watch. Most recently Top Gun and Onward. Samsung Q9FN. Can test on my Q6 also.

No resolution yet. VUDU says it's Samsung, Samsung says it's VUDU. You know how those situations go...
