Movies freeze after a few seconds of play

On my 10.6.6 Macbook Pro, whenever I try to play a movie or preview, the stream suddenly stalls after a few seconds. If I try to rewind, the app freezes on the loading screen and I have to Force Quit Boxee. I have tried quitting all running programs and reinstalling Boxee (after deleting the Library folder files). The app used to work properly soon after it was released on Boxee. Movies play fine on my netbook. I first noticed this issue late December/early January after the free movie promotion.

Ok, so clearly my problem is unfixable. I'll just remove Vudu from Boxee and rent from iTunes or Amazon.

well, you're not alone... I'm seeing the same problem. Do you have an ATI card by chance? I wonder if it's a conflict with the video driver.

I apologize, i did not see your original post. If its possible, make sure boxee is the only program running when you start your stream, make sure everything else is closed.

Send me a PM with your email address i can credit your account accordingly.

I'm having the exact same issue on a Mac Pro, VUDU is unusable for me and I've wasted money on these movies. Please credit my account, I will send you PM.

Hello. I installed Vudu for the first time last night and used my free $3 to try out a movie. Both on the 2min preview and when I finally purchased one the player froze Boxee after a few seconds. I restarted and it happened again. I restarted and fast-forwarded as soon as I started playing and after the FF it locked. I turned off all other apps and tried it again, no good.

            Windows 7 Pro SP1, x32

I see a couple posts in the Vudu forums and a couple posts on the web. Is this being checked out?

I have this problem too on my Mac. I've tried everything. Vudu works fine on my iPad but on my iMac with fully updated software it refuses to play more than 2 seconds and then freezes and totally locks up everything.

Are you running boxee on your iMac, or are you trying to use your web browser?

Give web play a try, it may solve your issue and give you easier access to VUDU itself. http://www.vudu.com.

the whole point of using boxee is to be able to use a remote and the 10' interface.

fix the boxee app, or just remove it completely.. it doesn't work on any platform (windows/mac)

                          Shock,

I'm not encountering the error you seem to be. Which programs do you have running in the background? VNC? anything like that?

Is the Boxee VUDU interface going to be fixed? I just downloaded Boxee and am running it under Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit and I have the same issue. It starts to play the trailer then video freezes but audio repeats like a stuck LP in the old days.

Also, I noticed the trailers don't show up in HDX but only in SD. Is this by design? I was hoping to run this on my HTPC so I can watch the movies in HD.

[Edit] I did find the solution for my issue here thakfully.
