    I agree with you on both of those comments! This thread was started in Oct, we are now in Jan!

    I have now found out this is a Xbox app issue. I finally downloaded the Roku 2 Vudu app and guess what, no issues what so ever. I guess I will have to watch Vudu on the Roku instead of my Xbox. Which sucks cause my Roku does not play HD, but I rather watch a consistently streaming movie than having to press "retry" ever few minutes.

    Now I know that the issue is not with my Time Warner service, since my Roku uses the same connection as the Xbox.

      Over the next week I will make a comparison on Playstation 3 to see if it has any issues (guessing it won't) and post my findings.

          We suspect that this playback error is triggered by a layer in the Xbox console where we have very little control of (as an app).
          We will work with Microsoft to find a solution.

            This is happening to me right now, of course after I paid $5 to watch Skyfall. I guess that is money wasted and no more VUDU for me. It knocks the movie off about every minute or so. I will be using Amazon and the Wii I guess.

                I am getting the message "Playback Error..: sorry VUDUmovied isn't available right now...." But Xbox says it is available. Any suggestions?

                  I am Having the exact same issue. I rented Elizabeth and I can't watch it. I always use the PS3 never had a problem with the other sites I use. This is however the first time I use VUDU to bad I can't watch any movies, it just keeps buffering.

                    I'm new to VUDU as well. The movies it gives you plays just fine but I rent one and it doesn't play!? That's just ridiculous. I don't have any problems with any other movie apps wont do anymore business with VUDU.

                      I had the same exact problem trying to watch Argo last night. I couldn't get through the movie and will not be able to watch it before the 24-hour period expires. Netflix worked without issue and I have watched hd VUDU movies via xbox many times before. I sent an email about this to VUDU support, but have not yet received a response.

                      I would like a credit on my account and some assurance this won't become an ongoing problem or I will have to stop using VUDU.

                          I just had this happen to me while watching Argo. The movie was about 75 percent completed and I received this message. Some guidance on reporting this issue would be greatly appreciated. X-Box Live is working, so it must be a Vudu problem.

                            Ugh !!! I just got VUDU so there shouldn't be any problems with updates. As I can see its been a year and I am having this same issue and its with movies I bought I'm very frustrated and rather have my money back if I can't watch what I have purchased ...

                              Exact same problem here tonight while watching Argo. 75% through and now i get this same exact error and cannot play. tried reinstalling, rebooting, resetting router. reactivating device on this site. NOTHING works. HELP

                                For the past couple of weeks I've had the issue of not being able to watch my vudu movies with the exception of 4 of my bought movies. I bought desolation of smaug right when it became available and when I attempt to play it I immediately get an error saying it's a playback error and to contact customer support. This happens only on my xbox app, and the app itself is running fine, I am able to load the app, navigate to my movies, watch previews, but Vudu only gives me the playback error message when I attempt to watch the movies that I have paid for. I haven't rented these I've bought these. I submitted a ticket two days ago and no response since. Not even an acknowledgment of getting the ticket. I am very close to demanding all of my purchases be redeemed so I can at least go buy the physical movies and have access to MY merchandise that I HAVE paid for.

                                Oh and since I see mods asking for case numbers here ya go. 140321-001192
