xbox freezes when vudu app started

Has anyone had this problem? since Nov20th I got an new update from Vudu and my Xbox locked up it stopped my remote from working and I have to press the power button many times to even get it turn off. All other apps work fine,
let HBO go, Netflix, and internet explorer. I have removed it many times and the first part loads fine, then the update comes in and bam, I am locked up again.

Does it lock up in the startup/splash screen (just bluish background + VUDU logo) or once you get to the front page (movie posters, etc)?

If it's in the splash screen, there is a known issue when using 480i output w/ composite cables and the screen format in the Dash video settings is set to "widescreen". We have confirmed it's a MS bug and are waiting for a fix ASAP. In the mean time if you set the format to "normal" or use any other resolution (would need component or HDMI for that, though) it will work. Sorry, I know that's not ideal...

It appears this is still an open issue.

I just installed the Xbox to Composite cable. Vudu froze upon startup as described. I confirmed that my setting were still at 480 and Widescreen. I changed it to 1080i and it still froze. I then changed it to 1080i and normal and it processed normally.

Is there a fix? I am not conformable with workarounds that might cause other issues.

AFAIK shouldn't happen if you are using *component* cables (i.e. the R/G/B colored cables) and 1080i, just composite (the single yellow cable) and 480i. However, composite doesn't support 1080i, only 480i - if you want to use anything higher res than that you need component or HDMI.

Is your TV an SD-only TV, or are you just using a composite cable to an HDTV? Using 480i with widesceeen is a very rare case, since there are almost no 480i 16x9 TVs out there...
