Xbox 360 Vudu App not working

I have not been able to use the Xbox 360 Vudu app since Friday, March 7. When I load up the app, I am able to navigate to My Vudu and go to My Movies. I will show me a list of all the movies that I own just like it always has, but when I go to play one of the movies I am prompted to rent or purchase the movie instead of play button.

When I go to the Vudu app on my Xbox one and on my LG TV, I am able to play all my movies fine, so this problem is definitely related to the Xbox 360 Vudu app.

I have also talked to a few of my friends that watch vudu on the Xbox 360 and they are having the same problem. Xbox support was no help at all.

Is anyone else having this problem?

On a side note, when the app was actually working, every time I tried to switch the quality from HDX to SD or HD, the movie would stop and I would get an error about the maximum number of streams, when I only had one stream playing.

After having issues with buffering for the last few days I decided to try again today. I'm having the same problem. I am able to view the "Free 2 minute preview" which is good because I was able to watch it fully without having to buffer the stream but now I can't actually play the movie that I'm trying to watch, or any other movie in "my movies".

Re: Xbox 360 Vudu App not working

I had this problem yesterday, when I logged on to the Xbox 360 app for the first time in a while. After letting it sit for about 15 minutes, I logged in and out two more times, and then it worked on the third time. I haven't had this problem since. I'm wondering if it has to do with the size of our collections - I have around 1106 movies in my account.

The app wouldn't work at all for me tonight. Recognized that I had movies in my account, but wouldn't allow me to watch any of them (all 1311). Would've tried calling support, but I didn't start the app up until 15 minutes after their stated tech support hours. Tried logging in and out of the app, as well as turning my Xbox 360 on and off - nothing worked.

            Hi Speed,

Are you still encountering the error message today?

Re: Xbox 360 Vudu App not working

I did, until this evening (5/31), when I erased the app from my Xbox 360 and downloaded it again. It seems to be working now. Still times out a couple of times when trying to show my collection, but at least it shows that I "own" all of my stuff.

I've added a few more movies to my account, and now I'm running into this problem again. I've even deleted and then downloaded the app again, and that doesn't help. I keep getting the "Vudu Movies isn't available right now. Try again later." message, which I hit retry for multiple times. When it does finally load my catalog of movies (over 1300), it claims that I need to pay to watch them (no "You own this title" message on any of the covers).

Seriously, this is incredibly annoying. I shouldn't have to go through this hassle every single time I add movies to my account.

                  Speed,

Did you contact our support team about this previously? Could you give me that case number so i can continue it from there?

I am having issues with xbox 360 app as well. Receiving a playback error when trying to play any Ultraviolet content on the xbox 360. I am able to view trailers, and non-ultraviolet content such as TV shows or Disney films ie. thor 2 and iron man 3. I can watch all my UV content on pc via vudu.com but not on 360. I have power cycled, uninstalled/reinstalled the vudu app, and power cycled both modem and router. I have been having this issue for 2 weeks. Seems to be issues with Xbox 360 app and UV content. Any help is appreciated.

The app on my kid's 360s don't work either. The movies show up, but I'm prompted to purchase instead of play.

Customer service told me that my only other solution, other than continually reinstalling the app, was to get in touch with Microsoft's Xbox support. And then they closed the support case.

                          ...yup.

Well, this got interesting. I've been tweeting with Xbox customer support (trust me, their Twitter crew is a million times better than calling up their support), and haven't really made any headway yet (the usual turn off the modem, reset the router, etc.).

So I'm trying to see if ANY of my films will load (they won't. Surprise!). HOWEVER, despite the 360 app telling me that I don't "own" I, Frankenstein, it's letting me watch one of the "Making of" features that goes along with it...which you think you wouldn't be able to watch if Vudu is telling me that I don't "own" the film.

Sorry for the delay, I grabbed the ticket. I wanted to work on this one directly. I spoke with one of our QA team members recently about it, just didn't grab your case until now. I'll update you shortly there.
