Re: VUDU App "Broken" on XBox One

I've had problems with the xbone and Vudu app for a while. Currently, it is pop up with movie is not available, or Vudu is not available, retry. Which then it restarts the movie from the beginning. Works fine on my phone.

Re: VUDU App "Broken" on XBox One

I am starting to look at other options to manage my UV library because the user interface on the Xbox One app is so bad. I've put in a couple comments to Vudu support before, but nothing seems to be happening.

If they just had a similar layout to their website (or the PS3), it would be so much better. Let me sort based on A-Z, ratings and recently Added, and PLEASE, let me see more than 5 movies on the screen at a time.

TV Show implementation is very poor as well. I hate having to drill down so far into the program just to find an episode of a TV show I'm watching. First you got to My Vudu (which I wish it went to by default) then My TV, then find the show, then find the season then finally find the episode, and they don't even track which one you watched last.

Please, fix the interface. The user experience is so bad its causing me to start to look for other options. I've already made a Cinema Now account and linked it to my UV library, and downloaded the app to my Xbox. I'd much rather stick with Vudu, but... Cinema Now lets me sort my movies!

I have no Kinnect and have also had similar issues with Vudu. Loses connection randomly. I have to gonto Home, quit Vudu, and several seconds later it "refreshes" or unfreezes and quits, and then i have to start it up again. No issues in same router with PS-3.

I sure hope so. I've got friends that would use Vudu if the xBox app was any good.

You guys realize he said that over a year ago? It's not going to happen. People have been begging for this since the Xbone came out, and it doesn't seem they care.

I've used the VUDU app on Xbox One since it came out. Been hoping they update it like the PS3 and PS4 apps are, but it still worked.

As of the last 3 days, it no longer works. I get the message:

"Sorry, VUDU is not currently available. Please try again later. For more information, contact VUDU customer support at support.vudu.com"

I can switch to my PS4 and it works there. I uninstalled/reinstalled the app and still get this error.

                Fix it.

Are you using the preview dashboard version? Do other streaming apps work (YouTube, etc.)? Wired or wireless connection? Tried clearing the cache on your console?

Unlike Xbox 360, the Xbox One does not have a menu option to clear cache on the console. Instead, follow these steps to clear cache on an Xbox One:

-Press and hold the power button on the front of the console until it powers down completely.
-Unplug the power cable from the back of the console so that the power brick in not connected to the console.
-Press the power button on the console three or four times. This will ensure that any remaining power in the battery is drained, clearing the cache on the console.
-Plug the power cable back into the console.
-Wait for the light on the power brick to change from white to orange.
-Turn on the console using the power button

Is a new updated app coming at all? Or should we give up hope and transition to a new service....

                      Hi,

Yes, I am on the Preview Dashboard. Yes, all other streaming apps work (Netflix, YouTube, HBO Go, etc). I am on a wired connection with both consoles.

I followed your steps to clear the cache, but unfortunately it didn't help. Thanks for trying.

I suppose it may be due to the Preview Dashboard, but that makes VUDU the only app that doesn't work.

I have to throw my vote in for an updated app on Xbox One and for 4k support with the new Xbox One S. I have spent a lot at Vudu, right now I'm starting to think I need to move myself to another service as there are others that support it. Every system is supported well at Vudu, except MS systems. Thanks.

I've tried all of the above and it still stops me from viewing a movie. This app really does need a overhaul. Would love to continue to use it, but can't stand having to see the movie cut then have to read, "sorry, VUDU Movies isn't available right now. Please try again later." Over and over... Please fix it!

Same here. After the latest xbox one update, it says the service is not available after launching even after doing all of the above steps. We used to use the app several times a week. Hopefully there is an update soon that fixes the issues.

Does this actually work for anyone on xbox one? Still busted without an update for me.

I've had no issues on Xbox One. The UI is terrible but I've been able to watch movies as recently as last night. Putting on my IT hat, did you try deleting and reinstalling the app completely?
