    New PS4 Media Remote + VUDU = ?

VUDU isn't on the official list of supported apps, it does say more are coming. Can VUDU please support the official media remote? Thanks

Have you tried Vudu with the remote yet? Just because it isn't an officially supported app doesn't mean it won't work. However, given the history of PS4 media remotes, I understand not jumping to that conclusion.

I have a Bluetooth remote I use when watching movies and listening to music. It would be great if Vudu had support for keyboards and remotes. With larger iPads now, folks can sit some distance from the display.

Well. That's a shame. Maybe one day there will be something that works. PS4 is a little wonky like that. Last I tried, the navigation on the PS app for Android didn't work within media apps.

I ordered one to try out - I would have thought since it's Bluetooth that they would be mapping keys to normal controller buttons, so it would work out of the box.

If it's using a "standard" PS4 interface to receiving remote commands that it uses, we will likely support it. If there is anything proprietary/custom key mapping, etc, required to support it, probably not.

              Re: New PS4 Media Remote + VUDU = ?

              Hi Jake,

The remote has the PS4 controls mapped to it, yet even those aren't recognized by the VUDU app.
Other media apps have a similar issue in that the Play/Pause/Stop functions don't work, but the triangle/circle/x/square do work in other apps. For VUDU, none of the remote functions seem to work at all.

              Very strange imho.

Anyways, it would be lovely for this remote (or even CEC functionality) to be supported in the PS4 VUDU app, but that doesn't seem to be the case.

I've taken to using the PS4 as my primary method for consuming VUDU, as the VUDU Spark has a horrid remote (and is quite slow, understandably), but on the PS4 I'm forced to use a controller. Adding support for CEC and/or PS4 remote would be a great additional tweak.

              Cheers

We have the remote and are adding support for it, as well as CEC. No ETA on when the update will be published, but they will be supported when it is...

Should be submitted to Sony early January, and released after it finishes QC, etc. It took a bit longer since we wanted to make sure the Logitech Harmony Hub was properly supported as well.

Any update on this? Did the update get submitted? I really hate using the controller for Vudu.

Same here, if I set the controller down, the shoulder button (bumpers) get tapped and skips forward or back... Ugh.

As a result, I'm no longer using VUDU until this update is made available.
