New update for vudu on xbox one x broke dolby vision

    New update for vudu on xbox one x broke dolby vision

    Hi, i recently downloaded the new vudu app update on xbox one x. Right after, dolby vision isnt activating and most movies with uhd gives me audio but a black screen. Help? The tv is also a Hisense H9F 55 inch. I made sure and my tv is up to date on firmware...same with the xbox

    Can you please provide me with the currently installed firmware/software on your Xbox One X and on your Hisense H9F TV. That way we can take a closer look at this issue for you.

      The h9f is:
      kernal version 4.9.125
      build: PTT1.181130.001
      ANDROID VERSION: 9
      When i hit check for update, tells me system is up to date.

      xbox one x:
      os version 10.0.19041.4981
      latest october update

        Also the vudu app version is 7.7.41.70 if that helps

          Thank you for the info. Is this the case for all of the UHD content you are attempting to playback? Can you give me some examples of titles that has this issue? Does HDX/SD content work for you? I just want to cover all bases here.

            Hdx and sd do work. Tried star trek into darkness, the latest tomb raider movie, batman 1989 and all were causing the issue. John wick 3 gave me video but checking the video settings on the tv only gave me the hdr settings (hdr vivid, hdr bright, etc as opposed to before the update dolby bright, dolby dark, etc). Also prior to that new update, loading a uhd video, the dolby vision icom would display at the top right of the loading screen. Still does that when loading netflix uhd but no longer with vudu. Im thinking dolby vision is just not activating correctly with vudu after the latest update

                      We are aware of this issue and are already working on a fix. I'll report back once I have further details.

                        The fix has just been rolled out by Microsoft. Make sure you update the app and try again. FYI, Xbox Live is experiencing increased traffic most likely due to the release of their new console today.
