Re: Samsung Blu Ray - won't connect - Curl Code 0

Just spoke to Vudu and Samsung technical support separately. Apparently the new Samsung Blu Ray firmware, v. 1016.2, that was published around September 16, is incompatible with the Vudu App.

You can check if your Samsung Blu Ray player has this version, it probably does if you use auto update, by going to the Settings screen, then select Support, and the select Contact Samsung. You will see your model # and software version. Look at the last numbers on your software version and if you have v1016.2 you are out of luck.

Samsung Technical Support had no clue about this issue when I spoke to them today and had me run through the normal reboot, reset, etc. None of it worked.

Vudu - please create a new version of your software to fix this problem? You are loosing revenue!

Re: Samsung BluRay - won't connect

If you have a Samsung Internet enabled TV you can access the Vudu app directly and bypass the Samsung Blu Ray player. It seems like the firmware on the Blu Ray and the TV are different and the TV can still access the Vudu app.

Not a perfect solution but I'm betting that Samsung's tight partnership with Netflix has something to do with their lack of progress in resolving this issue. It reminds me of the old DOS / Lotus 123 days. The saying went "DOS is not done until Lotus will not Run". OK, I'm old

Samsung released a new firmware with a fix for the issue (v1018.1).
Please do a network firmware upgrade and you will be able to connect to VUDU again.

                Desalvsj,

Are you getting the curl code 0 error? Or is it another error code? What model are you using?

Re: Samsung BluRay - won't connect

I have been having the same problem since November 2011 with my Samsung BD-D5700 bluray player. I exchanged several emails with Vudu Support (case #226989) and tried everything they suggested, like checking for Samsung software upgrades and unplugging the unit - still no Vudu. On November 30th Vudu Support emailed, "I do apologize that you are experiencing these problems. I have escalated your ticket to out upper level tech department. From there you will be contacted on what next to do." I have not heard anything since. Since then Samsung Smart Hub has updated several times, and the Vudu app was updated on December 9th. Still no Vudu. Current Smart Hub version is 3.624-6.0.00061; Bluray player version is BSP-D5700ZA-1020.5; Vudu app version is 2.017.

Is anything happening between Vudu and Samsung to resolve the disconnect?

I just purchased a samsung blu ray 6500 this week. I can't connect to vudu - am getting the curl code 0 error message and am running software version 1020.5. I am very frustrated beause I had purchased 2 sony blu ray players early this month and also could not connect to vudu. Have talked to vudu support several times about the sony players and am now ready to just give up. The only reason I wanted the blu ray player was to access vudu but am frustrated and am not sure what to do.
