Re: Vudu To Go Screen blank when Maximized

              Having the same problem here.
Snooping around the player I noticed one thing that changes.
If you right click on the bottom left corner (the "HDX", or whatever format your movie is) there is an option to open playback info. If you switch back and forth between full screen and sub-full screen you'll notice that the "Hardware video rendering" line switches from Yes to No. Yes with full screen. No with sub-full screen.

I haven't gotten around to figuring out how this effects things or how to fix it. Just something I noticed and am sharing in case someone else knows what to do with this information.

Re: Vudu To Go Screen blank when Maximized

As of the time of my post, I was able to fix the problem by doing this.

I own a AMD Radeon video card and I went into the Radeon Display settings and turned off GPU SCALING.

Doing that resolved it for me.

This is happening out of the box with a Surface 4 Pro 8GB/256GB on Windows 10. This seems like something that should have been fixed by now without a work around. I am really questioning using Vudu over Flixster at this point.

Re: Vudu To Go Screen blank when Maximized

Two years later and this is still a problem! I just recently started with Vudu because T-Mobile uses them for promotions and I've purchased 4 HDX movies recently.

Is there a legitimate solution for this problem yet?!

Re: Vudu To Go Screen blank when Maximized

I've had this problem, too. I've noticed if I click the double-arrow in the bottom-right corner of the VUDUtoGo app menu, the screen will go black. If I click the 'maximize' button on the top of the window, however, the video will show just fine. I'm not sure the image quality is the same, though, and it's not true fullscreen. I'm also not sure how many people would think to try something like that.

                      I'm currently on...

                      Windows 7 Pro 64-bit
                      Intel Core 2 Quad
                      8 GB RAM
                      NVidia GeForce GT 730 @ 2.33GHz
                      Intel DQ45BC motherboard

I've also seen this issue on my Windows 8.1 machine. I only remember that it's a Core 2 Duo on an Intel DG33BU mobo. (I've had to look up the motherboard a few times. XD; )

I'm relatively new to Vudu, but I've had it long enough to see that the problem persists through different versions of VuduToGo, Adobe Air, and Graphics drivers. I'd guess it has to do with the app in general.

I don't think it had this issue on Mac? It's been awhile since I've tried, but I seem to remember getting a real fullscreen on an iMac.

(Replying because the post-edit feature doesn't seem to be working.)

Found a screenshot from when I was trying to get a frame grab. I can confirm the issue doesn't exist on Mac.

We have seen this most often on Chrome, and occasionally on Vudu2Go. It's most likely an issue between Browser/Flash/Graphics card drivers. We are trying to come up with a workaround but since the problem isn't in VUDU code it hasn't been easy...

Just starting having this problem fairly consistently on Vudu2Go. Latest gen/fully loaded Thinkpad X1 Carbon with fully patched Windows 10. Updated Vudu and Adobe Air. Very frustrating.

Since you are on Windows 10, you could try out the new Windows 10 native app to see if that provides a better experience...

I'm having this issue on my work desktop and home laptop, so obviously they're totally different setups with the same problem.
