Can I Chromecast VUDU movies from IMac to TV?

Can I cast VUDU movies from IMac to TV? I thought I could cast anything that played on my Chrome browser but the people here on the VUDU forums seem to think not.

I can cast their free trailers OK. I haven't joined and paid for a movie until I make sure.

    Thanks!!

Chromecast doesn't work on all sites. I bought a Chromecast and tried a few of the websites that I want to cast to my TV and it didn't work. The screen was all pink when I tried to cast ESPN3, CBS, FearNet.com, and a couple others. I didn't try Vudu since I have Vudu available on all my TVs, but I think Vudu is working on something with Chromecast now.

I just tested casting from a tab to watch some of my Vudu content, and it was laggy, but it was there. If your computer and your wifi are good enough, it should be possible. In HDX, the picture was pretty sharp, it just stuttered a lot. (A lot more than the laptop, which was stuttering just a little on the same scenes.) When I switched to SD the laptop picture appeared very smooth, indistinguishable from 24fps video, while the Cast video on the TV had very light jittering, like maybe it was 18-20fps. The video quality was still comparable to what I would expect from a STB.

My test computer was a late 2008 MBP, so I thought part of it might be the computer, but I saw some jittering when casting from my desktop, too.

Edit: tl;dr version -- yes, but the video won't be very good. Run a cable from the computer or get a cheap Blu-ray player or a Roku 3 for Vudu.

I replied the first time you mentioned this, but not sure you read my post since I never saw a response. The pink (or black) screen issue when casting a Chrome tab is often the result of having hardware acceleration enabled in your browser. If you disable that setting, it should work fine.
