    Lost Network Connection on Pause

    Hi,

    Seems that since the last major firmware update on the Vudu box I have, it loses the network connection after being paused for about a minute.

    I have a about 62Mbs connection that comes into my media closet, so that's not the issue... plus it started after the last firmware update.

    Are other people seeing this?

    I'm not able to reproduce the issue, so it may be a hardware issue. Could you give me your device ID?

        I'm glad (and somewhat sorry) to see others has experienced this issue. For the past month or so, every time I pause the movie for about 30 seconds or so, it disconnects me and puts me back to the Main Menu. From there, I have to go back to My Rentals and select the movie. Luckily, it starts from where it left off but it's becoming a pain!!!

        Any suggestions is much appreciated.

              This happened to me 3 times last night - each time I paused the movie. It's not happened before. Was any resolution reached previously?

                This still happens all the time for me. Even on HD movies now (used to be only HDX).

                Recently a new twist came about. After getting the error and hitting back a few times (generic error page, list of offline files, a "this page unintentionally left blank" page), I now get to a screen that has a detail of:

                Error code 28: Operation timeout.

                Followed by my hardware, device, and software version info.

                Could it be an issue with the hardwired communication to an Apple AirPort?

                I don't expect an answer, since I've yet to get one in half a year, but figured I'd just throw this out there.

                  Is it possible your LAN or WAN IP lease time is really, really short? If you don't know what that means, mention it to Vudu support as something to check. That would cause the network connection to seem to drop frequently.

                    Mute,

                    If it is possible, bypass the airport, and connect directly to your modem. If you don't see the problem when you're directly connected. That may help narrow down the search.

                      Nope, the lease expiration is set to a day, but I'd had the same thought when this first started and set the IP on the box to be static with a save assigned address. No dice, same problem.
