    Vudu Speed test issue!

Hi! My ISP is Comcast. Vudu use to work well -still does sometimes. But lately I have buffering issues and only with Vudu!? I use Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, Amazon, etc and I have no issues to speak of. But Vudu that is another story. When I run the speed test from any of my Roku boxes it fails 99% of the time anymore even after rebooting the Roku boxes. And that 1% when it does not fail does not last long! So today I go online log into my Vudu account and try the Vudu web speed test and I get top download speed of 256Kbps!! Then that fails! Then I try again and same thing! Now I go to a few different online speed testers and I have no problems! My avg download speed is 52Mbps and upload is 9Mbps! Vudu what is going on here?! Either your network is over saturated or Comcast is throttling your content! BTW I use OPENDNS and I filter out a lot of stuff and I tried running with Comcast and Google's DNS and I get the same results. I hope Vudu does not throttle based on how much we spend online with Vudu? I don't spend much anymore as I do not like to watch the buffering message - Anyway I am asking what are some site addresses that Vudu uses to stream content from so that I can do some further route traces and some ICMP analysis of my Vudu sessions. I wonder if Vudu users in Chattanooga TN have any problems with Vudu?
    Thanks!
    -GEOZERVO

This is my true cable speed!
but when I use Vudu I feel like I am back in the 90's on ISDN! LOL

I'm seeing a similar issue but using Verizon. Normal speedtest is 82mbps and 25mbps. Vudu speedtest is 256kbps download---just horrible. Tried renting a movie last night and never was able to watch it. Trying to find out how to get my money back. Just started because I watched the Hobbit a few nights ago with no problem.

        Re: Vudu Speed test issue!

I have a similar issue. My ISP is Insight with a 20Mbps connection, using a Roku2XS wireless. Earlier use of Vudu hasn't been a problem but the last few weeks it buffers constantly even though I am only trying to stream SD video.

No issues with other providers such as Netflix.

I tried the Vudu speedtest but it keeps bailing out partway through, citing "a network problem." When it does work for a short while, the speed bar usually pegs out at the top of the HD range, I think that's 9 or 10 Mbps. But it never makes it through the full 1 minute test - 15 seconds is about the most I can get.

        Any ideas?

I just started having the same problem in the last few days. Perhaps they are having server issued. I have 50mbps FiOS.

I just started having the same issue within the past week here in Northern VA, 50 down, 25 up internet speed. Playback is on a Roku 3, hardwired directly to Verizon Fios router, HDMI to TV. Netflix & Amazon work flawlessly but can't rent movies from Vudu, playback of Ultraviolet, or even complete a speed test. I have been using Vudu almost daily since I joined without issue. Any help is appreciated!

I have the same issue. When I start a speed test the meter jumps to ~10Mbps then steadily drops to ~100kbps. I have called the support team (Incident: 140424-000525) and they place the blame on my ISP (FIOS). I have no trouble streaming Netflix, Youtube or Amazon Prime.
