iPad playback stops every 15 min

    iPad playback stops every 15 min

    I am streaming the guardians on my iPad, playing through the TV and every 15 minutes it simply stops. The iPad turns off, I turn it back on and start the movie again and it works for another 15 min. I checked and my auto lock setting on the iPad was set to 15 min, so I have now changed that to "never" to see if that fixes it.

    Presuming that does fix it, I would consider this a bug - when a movie is playing in other applications it disables the auto lock automatically - please fix this in a future update.

    Other than this - streaming is working well...thanks

    Please let us know if that fixed your issue. What is your iOS version and tablet model (1st, 2nd, 3rd, mini ...)?
    Do you have any other option on such as autolock screen for smart cover ...?


    I do use it all the time but I did not see the issue of autolock screen.

      If your using the AV out dongle when the ipad goes to sleep or locks the dongle goes offline as well.it does not detect the av out as a power source even though it is, and as such thinks its idle when playing back. this is a flaw in teh design of the ipad gen 1 and 2 with the wide dongle to AV or Componet plugs.

      if you have an ipad 2 or higher that can run IOS 6 I recommend using the google chrome option to playback VUDU titles either from the app on that device OR with the ipad playthrough option.

      If you do not want to go to this expense or like me you have a Gen 1 iPad with IOS 5.1.1 all you need to do is temporarily turn off your locking function and sleep options and it will work fine for playback. when your done watching your movie just turn your security features back on in settings...

      This is not a VUDU app issue its an Apple issue with 3rd party dongles that they dont want to exist. they of course want you to buy an expensive Apple TV module to do this rather then a $20 dongle cable. And even then the Apple TV does not support IOS 5.1.1 so iPad gen 1 users are SOL as you dont count to them anymore so you might as well just use what works.
