    Android UI update?

Are there any plans to update the UI for Android?

It looks like the original design direction was so the app looked like the website. I think it's time to update it to conform to the actual Android design language (Holo I think it's called).

    Any response on this?

Using Vudu on my phone is a less than pleasing experience.

      Re: Android UI update?

Can someone from Vudu chime in and let me know if a UI update is planned for Android?

The app has already missed the chance to conform to the Holo design language. Google is now pushing the Material design.

I understand Vudu wanting the same experience across all platforms, but there must be some consideration for mobile apps to be different for the purposes of usability.

Now that iOS has an updated app, when is the app coming for Android?

The new iOS app is worse than the old one. Are you sure you want an update?

lol. I can say that I don't like the new design for the PS3. Really wish they would go back to the old one.

But the Android app needs something because it is obviously some customized "website/app thing" that was common with Gingerbread apps. The OS has had 3 major revisions since then (if you count the tablet-only Honeycomb), and the VUDU app has yet to conform to the design language of any of them.

Is there any update to this?

The iOS apps actually look like apps, and the Android version doesn't. I love the VUDU service, but it seems like you guys just do not care about optimizing the Android experience.

Vudu is the only media app that is a chore to use. Is there any initiative to adopt a "Material UI" design for the app?

                Re: Android UI update?

It's really a shame that VUDU doesn't upgrade their Android app to conform to modern UI standards. Using the Android version is pretty much a chore, and has been in need of an update for YEARS. It's sluggish and the buttons are way to small on any high-resolution modern phone.

Really though, it boggles my mind how little VUDU/Walmart cares about the user experience in general: their mobile apps are terrible, the website needs modern interface that supports large-screen displays, the web-based player is STILL Flash (why no HTML5??), no FireTV or Android TV support, etc.

Hopefully, this is my last time bumping this thread.

Just wanted to say I am very appreciative of the new UI for Android. After waiting for what seems like an eternity, I have to admit that your team did a bang up job. The new app is a pleasure to use.

There is an update out on 10/16..

However, the new UI no longer supports TV out.

I've sent an e-mail to Vudu support requesting this feature be put back into place for Android and added to iOS.

If you haven't already, please add your comment to the main topic about the update. This thread has always been about the UI itself. As VUDU has delivered on that, this thread in particular serves no real purpose anymore.
