The Fandango at Home Forums are designed to help viewers get the most out of their Fandango at Home experience. Here, Fandango at Home customers may post information, questions, ideas, etc. on the subject of Fandango at Home and Fandango at Home -related issues (home theater, entertainment, etc).       If you order today, will you get it in time to activate it by January 31st? If lead time is more than a week, you won't.

        Well, since he bought it off eBay, the lead time is zero - it just depends on how long the guy takes to ship it and how long shipping takes.

        On ordering from Vudu - I think boxes are in stock and ship w/in a day...

            I just talked to VUDU Customer Service and they said that the $50 promotion has ended and I wouldn't be able to get it when I activate the box from Ebay.
            If I could go back a couple of days I could have purchased one locally and received the $50 credit and then also get the $100 credit they just started offering.
            I did end up getting one from Tweeter today but Tweeter wouldn't give it to me for $295, they charged me $400. So VUDU CS did give me the $100 credit.
            So now I need to decide if I am going to keep the Ebay VUDU. Without the $50 credit it doesn't make it as good deal. At least I got it for a good price.

            Anyway I'll hook up the VUDU I got from Tweeter tonight and activate it and then leave it alone. Hopefully the new downloads will be ready within a few of days.

            I won't get the VUDU I purchased off Ebay until Tuesday.

              Please don't feel strongly compelled to NOT use the box: feel free to use it right away. Of course, the catalog will be slightly out of date, but you may still find a few goodies in there, and an enjoyable discovery experience.
              If you think about it, whether the box updates itself for 22h a day or 24h a day isn't going to make much of a difference.

              Hope you'll like it. I find it has the same effect as DVRs did when they first came out: once you use one, you can't imagine living without it.

                    When I read about the price drop on Engadget and Gizmodo, my first thought was "finally, AaronWT got his wish", lol

                    Perhaps if he starts lobbying for multi-unit functionality (e.g. transfer purchased movies between units), it will happen soon too!

                      What about people like me? I've been testing this thing for my 30 trial period, decided I like it, trial period expired, and then bam--immediately, the price drops. I feel so left out!

                              Update: I called and John happened to answer...a little odd to say, "Hi John, it's Glassjoe." But he totally hooked me up. Thanks, John.

                              I went into my acct to see what the balance is and noticed that it says "recurring charge" or something like that. Does this mean that it is going to automatically charge my cc that amount, periodically?

                                Depending on how you have your account set up it will do a recurring charge - yes. The minimum is $20. So once your account balance drops to zero, a new charge of $20 is made (or whatever you requested the amount to be: 20, 50 or 100 were the choices I think). Vudu bucks/credits are used up first.
