    Network control failure after firmware?

I have a vudu xl and I have been controlling it for the last 2 years via the Ethernet jack. After the last firmware update, I have been e periencing problems with losing control of the vudu. I have unplugged the Ethernet jack and gone thru the network setup and verified that the ip address has remained static, and that the network remote option is enabled. It seems that after I do this, I gain control again. The factory remote always works. If I ping that ip address once I have found that control is lost, it does not give me a ping reply, however I can see that both lights are green on the front, and I can grab the factory remote and stream programs. Anyone else see this behavior? Odd...

Re: Network control failure after firmware?

Anyone? New Update - since the recent firmware from this last weekend, I can now get into the network config menu without unplugging the network wire. Unfortunately, even though the IP address stays static (and I can ping it), the network remote control no longer functions. When I try to disable it, it says disabled, but when I back out and go back into the same screen, it shows enabled again before I ever try to reenable it. I've tried setting a dhcp address and then going back to my control software and putting in the new IP, but no joy. I have power cycled the unit and verified the IP is still the same (static), but no control. Help!

Is there any update on this issue? It's been two weeks since I last inquired. My clients are starting to get very frustrated that they cannot use their VuDu XLs. Unfortunately using the RF remote is not an option, as the unit is too far away from the viewing location. Thank you.

            Rob,

I apologize, they are currently still working to fix the issue. I'm not sure if this is in testing as of yet. I will try to get more information today and update.
