    Fierce People Versions

We just finished watching Already Dead.

I was looking around for other movies and found Fierce People in SD and HD.

But it says the HD version is in stereo and the SD version is in Surround Sound.

    Tell me it isn't so.

If it's true then, "Mommy.... It just isn't right" !!!!

      Re: Fierce People Versions

Can anyone verify if the HD version is actually only stereo or the SD version actually DD5.1? There may be a metadata error. If it is actually is as it says it is, we will submit it as a content bug. I'm not sure why Vudu would be licensed with DD in one and stereo in the other...

        Re: Fierce People Versions

I have verified that the metadata is correct. The SD version was distributed by Autonomous Films, and the HD version was distributed by Lionsgate. Vudu probably (and I'm just guessing here) got completely different source data from two different distributors.

        This industry is completely whacko.

I would do this directly, if I knew how.

Tell LionsGate (for me as a consumer who spends money) they Suck!!

They should consider changing their name to WhyAmIinBusinessGate.

The HD version is most definitely NOT in Dolby Digital. I just rented it now and confirmed that is stereo only. Additionally, the audio track is somewhat lower in volume than it should be....

He must have made an error. It is most definitely not in DD5.1.

Hmm... I thought ALL HD movies were with 5.1? Or is "most HD" movies?

Yeah, he may have watched the SD version without realizing it.

I just think it's a cry'n shame that you can't automatically assume an HD title doesn't include DD5.1 or better sound.

It just makes it all the more difficult for me (the paying consumer) to wade through all the various offerings to determine which one to watch.

It's seems counter-intuitive to make it hard for people to spend their hard earned money. Sigh......
