The standard flywheel remote that came with the bx100. I think the remote is ok, though. Seems to send all the right commands once the bx100 has been recycled.

If you wouldn't mind, send me a PM if you have this happen again. If it's an option, try the RF remote and then the IR kit if the RF is unresponsive.

I wouldn't want to have to unplug my STB all the time either...

Same here, but it was the evening of 6/17. Very annoying, with it being tucked in a cabinet.

    Hi Dan,

This happened again to me last night, just after 9pm EDT. Box id: 0xB845. I had previously used my Vudu box on Tuesday 6/12 to download True Grit without issue. I backed out to the main app screen and put it to sleep. Last night, the unit was again unresponsive to the remote so I had to recycle it.

Recycling always seems to fix the problem, but you said to let you know if it happened again.

    thanks.

I've had the BX100 for a couple years, and LOVED it before this streaming update. I find the new interface, slow, unresponsive and buggy.

I have trouble pausing a movie, going ot the bathroom, and coming back, only to find a "CONNECTION LOST. PLEASE WAIT OR PRESS PLAY TO RECONNECT." or something to that effect. Highly annoying. I imagine this software "upgrade" was to accommodate a broader range of devices, perhaps those without significant storage capacity, but it's definitely a downgrade for bx100 users in terms of the "set and forget" capacity that made Vudu the first, imo, seamless internet movie rental experience.

    /rant

still using vudu though and like it a lot. quality is high, convenience is higher. Do the BD players and other devices run this new software better than the bx100? Maybe I need to upgrade.

ok, thanks. I used it last night and did have to reboot but as you say that was because of the 5/31 network unavailable issue. I will try the tip listed above...I backed out all the way to the apps screen before putting it to sleep.

I think we're looking at two different issues. Mike's connection issues is a Samsung specific connection error; Mike if you are still getting this error please let me know, i unprovisioned the device.

I haven't had my BX100 or BX1000 lock up but if you use the "power" button to turn off I have noticed that sometimes it takes two or three presses to have the video turn back on.

I usually exit back to VUDU apps screen before I put the VUDU boxes to sleep.

Ah, so that's why my Vudu STB locks up...good to know it's not just me, at least. It kind of defeats the purpose of putting it in a cabinet if you have to reach behind it to do a hard reboot, though.

Not sure if it is releated, but I got a message on my BD player indicating that maintenence is being done on May 31 - June 1 and systems would be unavailable. Perhaps it is happpening a day earlier in some regions?
