    Vudu had failed me,im done

Well it looks like vudu will never get the external hard drive ,that they said would be out six months after the vudu release. There seems to be more priority on getting the porn movies done and vudu travel bags.Whats the point when half the movies on vudu can't be archived.Putting porn ahead of what i think customers need more sucks. At least vudu can tell a customer what movies can be archived or not.Vudu needs to look at xbox 360 when it comes to external hard drives and learn something.

Yeah, it's taken longer than expected to finalize the external storage solution. I wish I could tell you how soon they are going to release the support for adding drives to your Vudu, but I can't. I can tell you it's still on the roadmap, and was mentioned in the customer satisfaction survey - http://www.surveymonkey.com/s.aspx?s...GWjSpAvg_3d_3d - did you take the survey? Please take note of the many other possible up and coming features (besides more hard drive space) that you are invited to rank in question 10.

I'm just wondering if you are saying you are otherwise satisifed with your Vudu?

I agree that as a tool to build a personal video library, Vudu isn't there yet. Fortunately, Vudu has nearly eliminated my need to do so as I now rent most movies that I watch. Even if I pay to buy a movie and throw it away if I reallly can't wait to rent it, I am still saving tons of money compared to what I was investing in hardware and disks prior to Vudu.

I'm not saying this will work for you. I'm just pointing out that there is a way to get tremendous value and satisfaction from it if you take advantage of its strengths.

All we can say about external storage is that there has been a lot of discussion about how to do it and the best way. We can't say details but there's been a lot of thought put into it. I can also say I have not see it or tested it nor do I know the final format of how it will work or when it is coming out. But I think everyone will be happy when it does.

Vudu has not put adult content above external storage. Adding that "feature" was really fairly minimal from an architecture and infrastructure format, IMHO. I don't think it detracted from resources.

Vudu has been very adept in addressing customer requests and issues. We've got TV shows now. We have faster downloads for both databases and movies. We have HD programming. We have travel bags which were requested by the participants who took part in Vudu's evangelist program last fall (sorry - I had to throw that in there and tell you why they were produced).

There's a lot more coming. I can't tell you but some of the upcoming features have definitely taken resources and programming time and they are definitely addressing customer requests.

          Hang in there...

I don't know what to suggest to you. You can rent more movies. You can watch the ones you have purchased. You just can't buy more.

Are you going to now throw out the Vudu after the investment you have made? That's the point. I doubt you will. But if you hang in there, I am sure your patience will be rewarded.

So exactly what's wrong with renting? I'd be amazed if you really wanted to own every movie you ever watch.

I see a movie in the theater first, from that i will decide to buy it.My point from all of this was the vudu said they would have ex drive soon after the release of the vudu box and they don't.But, would it be hard to tell the customer when you buy a movie can it be arched or not.I don't rent that is the way im.Forget im done posting, tried of repeating myself.I made a thread about archived movies and no one posted in it.

Listen, I'm not trying to upset you. You do make some valid points. I'm just questioning how you go from them to the declaration of Vudu as having "failed you". It does so much more than the specific thing you are trying to do. Even if they did have the external drive, that wouldn't really solve your problem for very long. It honestly takes too much disk space to digitally store an ever growing collection of movies (I currently have 4 1.6 TB servers for my pre-Vudu movie collection). And that was with standard definition. With HD, I would need a lot more and it would never stop growing. What would you do when the external disk or disks got filled up?

That was my original point. Vudu will never be able to be the solution for building an arbitrarily large collection of owned HD movies. The good thing is that the product's strengths make that whole losing game not necessary. That's just some food for thought.

Anyway, best of luck to you.

Could you please post your System ID, the engineers would like to peek at your hard drive and make sure it is really full, and not reporting a "false full" condition.

                      Thank you,
