Is Xbox Vudu App made by Vudu?

When I try to change from HDX to HD on my xbox during a film, the Vudu app states I have to many streams open and to close one. Which I only have the one stream. Plus Vudu accidently merged my account with another's which deactivated on of my devices.

Anyone else having issues of this magnitude? They are refusing to fix the problem and telling me to contact Xbox, but Xbox doesn't make the app? Vudu is implying I must have changed an option on the Xbox 360 which is causing the issue.

Even if that was the case, then shouldn't Vudu have this knowledge rather than just throwing me to Xbox. It's really bad CS.

I believe they've said before on these forums that the device manufacturer builds the app based on Vudu's API (or something very much like that). Vudu would be hard pressed to program apps for so many different devices, updating them constantly.

Re: Is Xbox Vudu App made by Vudu?

I gave up with Xbox because their program instantly broke when I got over 500 movies. 5 HUNDRED movies. This was about a year ago now, and I haven't looked back. Contacted VUDU and they (nicely) let me know that I would have to contact Microsoft because Xbox developers are **** about their device. They have to do everything with their devices, or so I am now under the impression.

Called Microsoft and talked exactly to the person I needed to. I have NO idea if the problem I was having has ever been fixed, however they were both very helpful and I have not once regretted my PS3 / WD Live TV Hub replacements.

You have have up to 8 total devices.

Up on the top of the page, go to ->

      "Your Name"
      "Manage Devices"

In here you will see all the devices that are linked to your account.

If you are saying that VUDU accidentally unlinked all of your devices, relink those suckers back up. Takes what? 14 seconds?

If you are saying that you cannot link any more devices because your device count is full (which it might be seeing that it is only 8 devices), unlink some that you are no longer using.

As per the HD/HDX quality change on the Xbox 360, I have no idea because I dis-like the Xbox. Not trying to **** you off being a PS fanboy, but I downloaded Vudu day 1 on my PS3 when it came out and I have never once had a problem with it. Xbox seems to fix their programs and then instantly break them again. It's annoying for users.

Unfortunately I would have to rule in VUDU's favor here (based on previous phone calls I have personally done) and say that you would have to contact Xbox as well. They and only they can fix it because I remember like it was yesterday talking to the phone rep that knew a little about the 500+ movie glitch, but didn't know it was as bad as what they thought.

My problem was that once you hit over 500 movies on Xbox's VUDU, everything in your collection would lose the "WATCH" option and instead be "BUY". I already own the content dang-it =S. BUT AGAIN THIS WAS OVER A YEAR AGO.

From my experience, Vudu knew nothing (about this^), and Xbox was aware of it.

Vudu linked my account with another persons account.

This action corrupted my account, which Vudu CS showed I had 1 device, an email sent to me said I had 0 devices and the website said I had 2 devices. The system would not allow me to add any devices and CS could not either.

also, I could not longer switch from HDX to HD because of the account merge and even after they supposedly unmerged my account I still could not view in HDX to HD.

From my understanding this problem has nothing to do with the app, though asking the community if anyone has had the same issue could confirm if this was indeed just an app or xbox issue.

lol and yes you sound like a fanboy. The xbox is pretty crap. I just like the exclusive games for it.

Since both companies want my money I side with neither.

Re: Is Xbox Vudu App made by Vudu?

My main question would be... do you have any VUDU exclusive movies? Because if it ends up being a VUDU problem and not a UV/Xbox problem, you could always create a new VUDU account and link it to your existing UV locker. That way you would start out scratch from VUDU.

However I would only do this if you only have UV movies in your collection and no VUDU movies (the non-transferable movies).

What was your reference number for the case? I would love to take a look and see what exactly happened on our end.

                Hi Dan,

I had the same exact issue happen to me since a few days ago, and I sent in a case number about 2 days ago.

On Xbox 360, HDX, HD, and SD normally work fine. Now when i start a movie, HDX works, but if I need to take it down to HD, it just stops and gives me that error that I "may have the maximum number of streams", but I definitely do not. I would like to troubleshoot this issue.

                      Hi Melon21,

Did you ever get a resolution to this problem? I requested who makes the Vudu App so I can contact their CS but still have not rcvd a response from my posted case here. Microsoft claims it's am app issue and they d not make the app, so they cannot help me. I have used the Vudu app made for a smart TV and a NeoTV device and the problem is xbox specific, but just the app its self. For some reason I'm not being given any information as to who to contact to get the app fixed. Quite frustrating.

                        Hi Lunchbox,

The error "Your account may be running the maximum amount of allowed simultaneous streams. Please terminate if the existing streams and try again." is not Xbox specific. Our engineering team is working on a fix. I'll provide an update as soon as I can.
