    Pineapple Express

This was just released (Sony Pictures). Vudu has this listed for sale (SD). Any plans to get a HD copy up for rent or are Sony actually under the delusion that they can make more money buy not making it available? (which will just encourage people to use netflix as a rental option and cut the studio out of their margin altogether).

Well, most studios don't offer rentals until 30 days after the release. So that could be one thing. But...

Sony is also well known for "For Sale Only" titles on Vudu. If you do a search on just Sony titles, you'll see a lot that are purchase only. Keep in mind that Sony big bucks invested in BlueRay and I'm certain they don't want digital distribution to take that income stream away...

Yeah, if it's going to show up, even a month late, I'd always use Vudu as my first preference but it has no date listed for the rental right now.

Sony are not stupid, they have there own Digital Download store on the Playstation (crappy as it may be) so they know exactly where the industry is going, but they do seem to be dragging their tail a little.

They also reported their first ever quarterly revenue loss today.

So maybe they aren't as smart as you give them credit for.

This one got me too. I have been wanting to see this, but it got pretty lukewarm reviews, so I wouldn't purchase it site unseen. I would definitely rent it for $2.99....I am not sure if I understand the marketing logic behind making titles Purchase Only. Surely Sony would see more revenue if they displayed a bit more flexibility here.
