PACIFIC RIM: UPRISING (4K) not redeeming at VUDU

We are getting the "Something is wrong" error when attempting to redeem a 4K / UHD code at VUDU for this title.

    Please fix?

I lost out on GotG2 UHD. The UHD code originally didn't redeem UHD yet DMA was upgrading anyone who called. I redeemed after MA took over and it redeemed HD. I tried calling email everything and no help to get UHD. Then later the codes provided UHD but mine was already redeemed. Hence why I stated I will wait on Pacific Rim till we get the all clear it redeems appropriately.

This is one of the reasons why I always tell people to just redeem at MA.

MA allows you to verify the code before redemption, and it shows you what level it is going to redeem at. Vudu doesn't do the latter.

Plus, if you ever change linked accounts in the future, it's better to have purchases flow from MA, rather than swapping out one account's content with a new account.

For UV + MA titles, I can understand wanting the UV and MA licenses for a dual redemption.

For MA only titles, unless you are trying to score a free UHD upgrade from iTunes, there is no reason not to redeem directly at MA.

The thing is that one can never be certain that a movie is MA only and won't have UV rights added at a later date. This has already happened to me on a couple of titles (Come to think of it they were both WB movies: "Scooby-Doo! & Batman: The Brave and the Bold" and "Suicide Squad: Hell to Pay"). When I purchased these movies they were MA only (UV was not listed). Then a few weeks after purchase they had UV rights added. Since I had made my purchase via Vudu, once UV was added a copy was dropped into my UV account. Since then I always buy and redeem via Vudu, just in case.

Guardians of the Galaxy 2 was and is MA only. It didn't matter with whom you redeemed the code as it only provided HD at first. People called DMA and were upgraded to UHD. I unfortunately used my code after MA took over. No phone call would help. No live chat would help. I was told technology changes and it was HD at that time. Then later the codes actually provided UHD. If I would have done it via DMA before MA or waited till MA provided UHD my movie wouldn't be the lower res.

Please fix this. I am holding onto a code of Pacific Rim: Uprising that I would like to directly redeem through Vudu. Thanks.

This is exactly why I prefer MA as an option. I was in the same boat with GotG2, in that I missed the early DMA upgrades. So I just held my code and checked it on MA every few weeks. When I saw that MA was finally recognizing it as a UHD code, I logged in and did a redeem.

Vudu doesn't tell you what a code redeems as until you redeem it.

Great point. I would have held it using this method had I thought of it. Unfortunately I called DMA and was told to redeem and then follow up later with DMA or MA as they likely would upgrade the redemption. My many follow ups consited of not yet, not yet, erc, then sorry nope.
