I don't get why a studio would refuse UHD rights for UV after we pay top dollar for their movie. I just don't get it. What are we as a viewer going to do with a digital movie?? Bootleg it out?? You should receive what you pay for, not something sub-par. Shame on your Paramount.

I can see the argument with digital codes, esp when they are advertised as Digital HD and not Digital UHD. It's annoying (looking at you Fox), but it's not false advertising.

If you're buying a straight UHD digital copy though, from a storefront that advertises UV/MA for said title, if it doesn't deliver a UV/MA UHD entitlement, then I would call that bait-and-switch because you are NOT getting what was advertised.

If Vudu is selling UHD copies that aren't delivering UHD entitlements, and Vudu isn't calling that out on the listing page, that's something that Vudu needs to correct ASAP.

I can understand with the code being HD as well, which I think studios need to look at the bigger picture and see fans buy higher quality because they want the highest quality, so they need to work on making HD codes UHD for UHD Blu-rays. Buying the UHD on a streaming service and not getting it, that's clearly a bait and switch. Hopefully this is something that they can work on more, but it really shouldn't be an issue this far into digital streaming.

Nobody has said that they are refusing UHD rights and Paramount isn't a complete **** studio like Fox anymore as they now do UHD with UHD discs (though Vudu seems to have trouble putting up UHD with random titles from Paramount for some strange reason). More than likely this is a technical issue between Vudu, UV, and/or the studio. No point in getting worked up before we have any info.

When you add your title to a streaming service, and only provide a HD license for UV for a title in UHD, when normally it should be the same quality, that's a refusing, no matter if it is on purpose or by mistake. If it gets correct, we will know it's a mistake, if it does not, we will know it was done purposely. This isn't the first time it's happened, and it won't be the last. If you don't care about quality, good. Many of us feel differently.

Paramount refused HD rights for UV for two episodes of Season 2 and all episodes of Season 3. All of the other episodes for Season 2 and all of Season 1 worked fine. HD purchases at Vudu only gave UV rights in SD for the affected episodes. I went back and forth with Paramount for ages over it. They kept conflating it with a digital code "redeem" which only gave SD. No matter how I would describe it or word it, they kept using the word "redeem". It was infuriating. I was FINALLY able to get through to them that it was a purchase and not a digital code redeem. At which point, they said that they would manually insert HD into UV for me but they no longer had rights to the show. And then of course said that Vudu had to handle it, and of course Vudu blamed the studio. The whole thing is still sickening to me! The only reason it's not a class action lawsuit yet is because it doesn't affect enough people.

I already purchased my copy here on Vudu, but just out of curiosity, does anyone know if a UHD purchase over at FandangoNOW face the same problem?

It's porting UHD to UV locker, so I guess they changed their mind?

Yes - UHD purchase of A QUIET PLACE is giving UHD UV rights now. Felipe - could you check on Sherlock? Both titles are Paramount and should be the same.

We are talking to Paramount again about this. This might be a mistake on their part.

Rather you didn't if a possible result is that they undo it. It has corrected for Fandango buyers as well.
And what is a "UHD EST" release?
