Game of Thrones S7 Disc + Digital

I tried to buy GoT Season 7 with the $9.99 Blu-ray + HDX Digital offer, even redeeming multiple Walmart GC offers and loading them to Vudu. However, when I go to check out it says "This item is currently out of stock at Walmart.com" -- even though the Blu-ray is still available at Walmart.com (at full price, of course). When will this be fixed? I don't care how long the discs are on backorder as long as I get the offer with HDX streaming. This sort of fail makes the deal look illusory, especially since there's no BF-like "limited quantity" disclaimers.

Then when will it be in stock? And why aren't you taking backorders for the disc? I'm seriously considering complaints elsewhere if this deal isn't honored, including Walmart corporate and/or the Arkansas attorney general's office. (I live in Central Arkansas.)

There are other Blu-ray versions of Season 7 showing as in stock on Walmart.com:

This title should be back in stock later today or early tomorrow.

Now this item is removed completely from the page! What happened? I've been checking back all day to try and buy it but it always says it is sold out! Did anyone successfully get it?

It's up now, but at $39.96. Meanwhile, it is still advertised on Vudu's own blog for $9.99 thru the 17th. Unacceptable "bait-and-switch" advertising. Unless changed back to $9.99 by in the morning, I will be contacting Bentonville and/or the AG.

Yeah, I've emailed support. This is unacceptable.

I have contacted Vudu support demanding that they honor the ad price on GoT S7 Blu-ray + HDX. I attached a PDF copy of the Vudu blog post (which this forum won't let me attach here) showing that you advertised $9.99 thru today on GoT, including a link (visible from the PDF) showing it is S7. I also advised support that unless this was resolved sometime this afternoon, I would call 1-800-WAL-MART and/or the Arkansas AG's office. (I still plan on doing that if necessary; I'm just saving my gunpowder so you can do the right thing.) I also reserved the right to buy it for $39.99 + tax and demand a refund for the $30+ difference.

Legally, this is an old-fashioned "bait-and-switch" sales tactic that has been held for decades to violate consumer protection laws in virtually every state. "Bait-and-switch" happens when a retailer advertises a high-quality item for a deep discount (the "bait") WITHOUT disclosing in the ad that the price is valid for only a limited quantity, so that when people arrive the retailer claims they ran out of the sale item and tries to substitute goods of a higher price and/or lower quality (the "switch"). I understand this offer is part of a promotion similar to Black Friday sales (I won't name the competitor's promotion but we all know what it is), but the legal distinction between "bait-and-switch" and Black Friday is that Black Friday ads generally DO disclose a quantity limit and/or narrow time limit (i.e., 7-9 AM). Vudu's ads did NOT disclose any limitation to the offer other than the two days (7/16 & 7/17).

FelipeF : Watch your PMs for some additional details.
