A hopeful request to Vudu about foreign action movies

Can we all get a campaign going for Vudu to get the rights to more foreign action movies? I didn't want to put this in the user suggestion area because this is really more about getting recognized. I for one am just a single vote of opinion here. If the demand is there then maybe it will become priority in the future. For instance, Jackie Chan's Who Am I is considered one of his best movies and it's not available on the site, nor is basically any Bruce Lee besides Enter the Dragon. Which ultimately, those are very common action movies and easily sought after on disc's.

I'm all for more asian foreign movies going digital, but it seems Vudu is dependent and content with only pursuing Well go Usa company flicks for foreign action movies consistently. I think most genre's are compensated very good, but like I said this seems like the genre they overlook the most. You can't even buy Bloodsport on here which is one of the most popular martial arts movies from the 80s.

It's just been frustrating to just hope for more activity because the selection is bizarrely thin in comparison to others. In terms of foreign movies available, their are about 5x more foreign comedies than they are foreign action movies available at the moment just to show a point. Vudu is very loose with the genre search in title as well. Hopefully this brings awareness even if your not a fan of the non American studio movie making craft.

I wonder if it's harder to negotiate rights for foreign movies. I'd like to see more, too, including some of Yun-Fat Chow's earlier Hong Kong movies -- especially Hard Boiled, The Killer, and A Better Tomorrow, all also directed by John Woo, before most people here knew who either of them was. VUDU does have the Ong-Bak movies, which I highly recommend. (Well, the first one was great, the next two...are worth watching, but the first one is the only definite "buy".)

Oh, and I hope you've seen Kung Fu Hustle and Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon, a couple of my favorite movies of any genre. And VUDU does have The Drunken Master, a true classic, one of my first exposures to martial arts movies.

I believe foreign movies are tricky because those movie companies never really dove in digital. Their is a lot of content out there that they just haven't landed. I have many dvd's on the shelf; mainly foreign action movies because vudu hasn't been updating that sector of content. You'd be really lucky to get anything before 2000s that was significant overseas on vudu unless a studio with american ties picked it up. I think I might be a small percentage that commonly watches more asian films than major US studio films by ratio. A lot of the ones I want are either hard to find on disc or out of print video. I think many of those movies are gems like Akira Kurosawa's 7 Samurai and Yojimbo aka the bodyguard as it's known here.

Speaking of kung fu hustle, Stephen Chow movies are must get. They are missing a lot of his films at the moment. He's a very talented director and actor especially since many American's like his story telling well enough that they don't mind it's foreign.
