    My movie counter has dropped

My movie counter dropped by one and I can't figure out which movie was lost.

EDIT: I think maybe it was one of the original Disney movies replaced by signature collection version, either Beauty and the Beast or Snow Wite or Pinocchio. I'm pretty sure I had both the old version as well as the signature collection version for at least one of those films but now I am only seeing the signature collection version.

The Disney titles don't replace the older versions, you would have both versions kept in your library, no matter the quality. At least that's how it is with me and Lion King and at least one other one that I can't think of off hand.

      Yeah, that's usually the case.

I still have both versions of Lion King, both versions of Lady and the Tramp, both version of Bambi and Bambi 2 etc. But only one version of the ones mentioned above. I can't be certain I had both versions of any of them but since I can't figure out which title I'm missing I'm just guessing it might be one of those.

I'm pretty sure it's not a UV title. And I'm pretty sure it's not something I purchased directly here on Vudu.

So I'm narrowing it down to something that imported from MoviesAnywhere. I'm thinking it's one of those because in the early days of the signature collection, whenever I would redeem a code via Disney Movies Anywhere, both the original version as well as the signature collection version would import into Vudu. I think they fixed it so that only one version is now connected to MoviesAnywhere which is why the second copy has disappeared.

It's all just a guess but I have no better theory.

If so, I hope they start fixing all the duplicates with Disney titles. It's crazy and causes clutter.

My count mysteriously dropped by five today. No clue which 5 titles were lost, but hopefully they return to my account soon!

It's definitely not a UV issue... I checked a family member's sub-account (which consists almost entirely of UV titles porting from my master account), and their collection total is unchanged.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure it's a Movie's Anywhere issue, but like I said in a comment above, I don't think it's anything I purchased here on Vudu.

I think my count dropped by 5 to 7 today as well. But I'm not 100% sure. This is scary!

Can anyone confirm whether they've lost any duplicate Disney titles? Like the original Pinocchio is gone but the signature version is still there?

All my duplicates are still there. I don't think that's the issue.

I'd suggest running monthly or weekly (if you buy a lot) scans using a collection tool and spreadsheet. Just Google "Vudu Collection" and you should find something from FMBB. I've been using it for close to 2 years. Very helpful!

I have my own spreadsheet that I use to manually enter new films after each purchase. It's not very helpful in these cases though, as my collection is quite large, so checking to see which film is now missing would take hours... if I switch to this collection tool you mentioned, is there a feature that would instantly allow it to scan and report changes/missing titles?

In any event, I was able to solve the mystery of my 5 missing titles... turns out they're not missing at all! I had previously purchased 5 episodes of Masters of Horror when they were listed as individual films. VUDU has recently made seasons of that show available for purchase. As such, it looks like they simply converted my 5 movies into 5 episodes.

I use the tool and have my own spreadsheet too. Nearly 2,000 titles listed, and I get threw off so much when I forget to add something new. LOL

I wish all providers would have a way to export our content list. iTunes has this feature by exporting a "playlist".
