UV Porting Rights for GLADIATOR (Extended) Disappeared

This title was UV eligible until a few days ago and is in our UV libraries. Now it does not port in from MYUV.

VUDU appears to have removed the ALID so it no longer ports in.

    Please fix.

I noticed the movie count on my UV account had dropped by one and I was wondering what movie had disappeared. How did you figure out which one it was? That's some good detective work.

The best I could manage was to narrow down that it wasn't a MA title because MA movie counts were not affected. Also I knew that it was something I had purchased under my own Vudu account because my Vudu movie count was not affected but the movie count on my family member's linked Vudu accounts had dropped by one (while their MA movie counts had not).

I was still scratching my head on this one until I read your post.

The missing film / UV rights here, as well as the random UV rights that suddenly disappeared without any explanation 2-3 weeks ago from many people's UV accounts has me greatly worried. What is causing these rights / films to just suddenly disappear? NO ONE should have the power to do that, as we spent money on these films AND the UV rights that accompanied them. As such, no movies should ever simply disappear from anyone's UV / VUDU accounts.

Whatever / whomever is causing it to happen needs to stop. My gut tells me that it is due to tinkering by Ultraviolet as they prepare to close up shop at the end of July. That said, no matter who is causing it, it is simply unacceptable for ANY films to disappear from our UV lockers and providers.

The worst part of this is that by and large, no one is taking responsibility. I lost UV rights to a movie, which caused it to be removed from linked accounts. Everyone I've contacted blames someone else, and states they are not responsible. I guess once UV shuts down, they can just delete your entire library & say it was UV's fault.

As of last check, VUDU sent 66 removal a requests to MA for my titles. Of the 66, 10 are duplicate requests, 23 ported to MA via other providers (iTunes - redeemed there pre -MA), which leaves 33 titles missing from my MA. Yet all the titles show in VUDU and myUV.

In addition, 3 episodes of BTAS V1 and 1 episodes from V3 were removed from myUV. Yet these still show in VUDU.

My total loss of content so far is 37 items.

And I am experiencing similar issues attempting to obtain help and often feel like I am a pinball being bounced around between help desks (WB, UV, VUDU, FN, MA).

But, VUDU is adamant that they NEVER delete rights from accounts. :-P

If only VUDU lived up to that.

It may be some issue with UV sending something to VUDU which VUDU is passing to MA causing the MA removals. The BTAS issue is an ALID issue. So in essence VUDU itself may not be the cause. But for sure their system has somes involvement.

Gladiator (Extended Edition) was mistakenly given UV rights. It's not to have UV rights outside of Europe.

I got Gladiator (Extended Edition) from Paramount's U.S. site, which also shows it as eligible for UV rights even today. Now my UV copy no longer imports to Vudu and Paramount's site no longer permits playback either. While Vudu may be at the mercy of the studio (you can't give what they don't offer), Vudu should be pushing back on Paramount for their customers, especially in light of UV's closure.

So not cool to yank away a license from us--a license that we've owned for years--and simply chalk it to it all being a mistake.

I don't know if there was pushback or if it was a typical clerical error but the movie is showing up in my account again. Thanks.

The film appears to have been fixed so that it ports - so ... that's a win.

The UV rights from Vudu have been restored. Funny thing is I was only able to view them after I refreshed my count at myuv.com
