    Jurassic World Dominion MA issue

Vudu has a major problem with the Jurassic World Dominion release. It states it includes both the theatrical and the Extended Edition. While both versions are viewable through Vudu only the theatrical is exported out to MA. it appears this happening because Vudu treats the extended as a bonus feature and not its own or combo purchase. This causes a problem with providers out there such as Microsoft, Amazon. Google. Who are looking for the MA to give access. Now Vudu knows the extended has MA associated with because they do import it from MA, so why don't they also export it.

Let me ask about this and see what can be done about it.

I've seen this before where only the theatrical ports through MA. Hopefully not the case here.

Just a quick extra note. The Extended edition does port to and from MA, it is just Vudu not doing the export that is the problem. As I stated in OP they do know the extended has MA associated with it and do import from MA to Vudu. I only know this because I had to purchase the Extended separately through Microsoft to view it on Amazon, Google, or Microsoft. Microsoft did export to MA and the other providers loaded it to my account with them. interestingly Vudu also loaded the Extended as a new purchase to my Vudu account.

I just purchased Jurassic World Dominion Extended Edition from Microsoft and it did not port to Vudu or iTunes. It did port to Prime and MA. Also, it is not showing in my purchase history on Vudu either. Is there something that can be done about this? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would open a ticket with Movies Anywhere.

when it ports from MA it does not show the image that the purchased version does. It just shows the image the same as the bonus feature from the combo pack.

I did reach out to MA and this is the response I received:

Thanks for reaching out to Movies Anywhere regarding your missing movie, Jurassic World Dominion - Extended Cut! Our team is aware of this are looking into this further.

While we can't guarantee if/when the movie will transfer to Vudu, we recommend keeping an eye out for your Vudu library, and you are welcome to check back in with us at any time. However, you can still enjoy your title in your other libraries in the meantime!

Additionally, iTunes does not carry this version on its own - the Extended Cut is an extra when you purchase the Theatrical version.

If you have any other questions or concerns about this, please let us know!

I've never had this issue before where a movie does not port in some form to all participating platforms. You'd think they'd have this ironed out since that is the whole point of MA. Hopefully time will clear it up I guess.

I purchased the extended version on Amazon to be exactly the same as the only version available on VUDU. After purchasing, the movie showed up on my youtube and moviesanywhere accounts. It did not show up on VUDU...ever. I called VUDU who told me that I needed to contact Amazon about this problem...jaw dropped. This issue is over 2 months old and even though a forum moderator has escalated it...there is no response. This is not that complicated so why is it dragging. I have never had this issue with a movie on VUDU which is labeled as moviesanywhere. I cancelled my purchased with Amazon but I have not confidence now in buying it from VUDU.

This issue has been resolved. Jurassic World Dominion - Extended is now importing in from Movies Anywhere. Vudu just needs to switch the cover art. Right now the regular version has the extended cover and vice versa.

                          Not fixed.

The problem is there are two issues:
                          • As detailed in a parallel thread ... "JURASSIC WORLD DOMINION - the UMID are flipped at VUDU" ... That is, the VUDU Theatrical (2h26m) copy of Jurassic Park Dominion ports to MA as the Extended (2h40m) version. And vice versa: the VUDU Extended title is linked to Theatrical in MA. This remains unresolved.
                          • This thread having the expectation that purchase of the Theatrical version should result in separate rights for the Theatrical and Extended copies of Jurassic Park Dominion within VUDU, more like a VUDU bundle works, with both titles porting through to MA and on. Except the Extended is only available as a featurette within VUDU, so no separate rights should be granted.

Likely owing to the first bullet, above ... purchasing JP Dominion Extended from Microsoft would port as Extended to MA ... however:
                          • MA JP Dominion Extended erroneously links to VUDU Theatrical
                          • iTunes doesn't yet offer the Extended version
So as far as your VUDU account is concerned, it would see no change if the Theatrical version was already present in your VUDU account.
