James Cameron 4K Reissues (Aliens, The Abyss, True Lies)...various issues

So for both Aliens and The Abyss, the Special Edition versions that are included as bonus features are only in HDX quality even if you purchased in 4K UHD. The 4K versions of these Special Editions are available on other services such as Prime Video and Apple. This is highly disappointing.

True Lies is missing the subtitles for all non-English portions in the 4K UHD film, but apparently they are there in the HDX version.

Can these issues please be remedied?

Yes please. I too would like to see this fixed.

Dear Vudu please update the Special Edition extra feature of the Abyss to 4k as Fox does have the master file available. It is the far superior cut of the film.

        I think you mean Disney.

Apple TV now has the Special Edition of The Abyss in 4K included with the theatrical cut. Your turn, Vudu.

Agreed. This needs to be fixed before I buy them.

What I am hearing now is that if you purchase The Abyss from Apple, then disconnect and reconnect your Apple TV account with Movies Anywhere, you will then own both versions of The Abyss in 4K. Already purchased this elsewhere, so no way to check how accurate that statement is.

However, even if that were true, it would not help anyone on Vudu since Vudu only has the theatrical cut in 4K.

Yes please make The Abyss Special edition 4k also or make it available separately as other retailers do. Thanks!

I was able to get my Prime Video purchase of the Abyss Special Edition to import into Movies Anywhere, which has exported to Vudu, but it’s still only HDX.

MA needs to fix redemption of say 4K codes when you already own HDX. If you do it just says you already own and doesn’t take code. While Vudu lets you redeem code regardless if you own a lower quality version or not.

If Vudu were to go away this would be a nightmare.

Now if we could also get the studios onboarded with MA that were with UV. Seems they never will. Unless Disney buys them too, haha.

I have never had a problem redeeming a 4K code for a movie I already own in HD on MA.

Aliens 4K Blu-Ray code is not redeeming for 4K for Directors Cut. Instead it just redeems for HDX and leaves you with a "update for $20" option, which btw is more than the 4K disc costs.

The disc doesn’t even come out until March. Where did you get the code?

Fox customer service. Guess I redeemed too early. Whoops.
