Why are vudu purchased TV season UV licenses converting from seasons into episodes?

(I could have also named this thread "Help! My green checkmarks are gone!")

I thought the UV library could not be changed once you made a purchase... but today a bunch of tv seasons in my UV library converted from a single item full season (which import between shared vudu accounts as owning the whole season) into "episode only" licenses for each episode in the season.

So far the seasons that converted from owning the whole season into 'just episodes' are:

    Suits Season 1
    Mentalist Season 4
    Two and a Half Men Season 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9

Other seasons of the same show still have full season licenses with a single entry at myuv.

Do any of the vudu reps have any idea why this is happening? Are all of the "complete season" UV licenses going to be removed from our UV libraries and converted into just the single episodes?

Not sure why we can't get the reverse going on here, where all the single episodes get converted into a full season...

Edit: At myuv it looks like the full season ownership may actually still be there, but the individual episodes each had a new uv license added today for each episode... but it seems vudu is ignoring the full season license for some reason now?

Edit again: Just lost Mentalist Season 3 and 5, and Suits season 2 full season ownership via UV

Edit again: Mentalist Season 2 just went as well. Of the 3 series affected so far (Suits, Mentalist, 2.5 Men), I only have 1 season left that is importing as a full complete season with owned checkmark, I guess that one is probably going to go soon too...

Woke up this morning and there are no seasons of Mentalist, Suits, or Two and a Half Men left that are importing as complete seasons with owned checkmarks, they are only episodes now with the option to purchase the complete season despite owning the episodes.

Sadly, now there are 3 more affected series:

    - Friends Season 1 and 2 have been converted to episodes only (these codes were actually redeemed on another service)
    - Big Bang Theory Season 1 has been converted to episodes only (I expect more seasons to disappear during the day now)
    - Pretty Little Liars Season 1 has been converted to episodes only, I guess season 2 is next

Any idea why this most terrible thing is happening to our UV libraries?

According to myuv, there appears to still be a "full season" ownership icon above all the episodes that isn't there on tv seasons that originally redeemed into UV as episodes only....

If I delete all the single episodes will vudu magically see the full season again? Or will that just wipe out the season from my uv library altogether because the "full season" icon is just a "ghost" remnant of my original UV ownership?

The inability of VUDU to "drop" the BUY NOW button for a TV season after it pulls in all the individual episodes, is an age-old one, and it's never been addressed.

Also to find some way to "wrap" in any "free" episodes (which can't be purchased) that were only received if you redeemed a code directly at VUDU. So these "free" episodes can't be bought and are just left hanging there

There's also the "Complete Your Season" - feature - which would be awesome if it really recognized what episodes you owned and the outstanding price of those you don't. Instead it throws in unreasonably high prices to "complete" - when buying episodes individually would be cheaper.

If this makes things better - great. There are a lot of seasons with an episode here or there with either a missing UV right or with the wrong format (buy HDX, get SD for that one episode)

Re: Why are vudu purchased TV season UV licenses converting from seasons into episode

This is actually a new issue of a single full season ALID obtained years ago being replaced by the studio today with multiple ALID, one per episode. I assume it is the studio since no one else has the rights to do an ALID replacement that I know of.

So instead of making UV and digital video better, someone somewhere spent time, energy, and money to make the UV system worse!

Let me demonstrate in pictures... these first 2 pictures show an example series the way it has been for the last couple of years in the uv library and in vudu, the second 2 pictures show how it looks after the changes today... This morning I took pictures of some tv seasons that had not yet converted in order to do a demonstration after they had changed:

And now, after the changes today, this is what we have (looks like the UV site hasn't fully updated, it isn't yet showing episode 2 even though it ported in to vudu after the full season was removed):

Can anyone spare a few thousand dollars so I can rebuy already owned content on some vudu accounts just to get back the green checkmarks that have been there for the last couple of years haha?
