    Issue: Subtitles Lag on Roku

When watching movies on my Roku the subtitles lag behind the video. Please fix this.

    A couple other minor suggestions:
-Subtitle toggling with the arrow keys is weird. Let us use the asterisk or A/B buttons (on the Roku) like other streaming services do.
-Touching the center of the screen (on mobile) should toggle play/pause.
    -Make an Amazon Fire app.
-Let us toggle collections on (collection is shown) and off (individual movies are shown).
-I'm not sure who is responsible for this, but when I purchase a Bluray movie with bonus features (e.g. Shrek, Lego Movie) that also includes a UV code, it would be nice if I could also access the bonus features on Vudu.
-Also not sure who is responsible, but if Vudu starts working on Linux/Chromium, well, you will be at an advantage over every other streaming service. I hate having to keep Firefox installed just to watch shows/movies.

    Thanks.

Which Roku are you using? What movies are affected (examples)?

Re: Issue: Subtitles Lag on Roku

I am using the Roku 3 and so far it has been an issue with every movie. Example: All Dogs Go to Heaven. And after testing on my phone, this seems to be a Roku-specific issue.

Have you power-cycled your Roku 3 yet (unplug from the power source, wait a minute and plug back in)? The Roku tends to get sluggish and hinders performance since it does not turn off. Give that a try, this resolves many Roku performance issues. FYI, I have a Roku 3 here at my desk and I'm not seeing this issue on any title I view.

Yes, I have. If it's just my specific Roku, I guess I can live with that until I upgrade it.

I had similar issues with Rick & Morty on my Roku Ultra. I routinely power cycle and this has made no difference. Since I almost never used CC I didn't bother reporting but since others are I figured I might as well.

              Hi Djh101,

Are you using any specific settings for closed captioning?

Do you have "Auto" selected for the following: Font, text color, text size, text bg color, window bg color, text edges, text transparency, text BG transparency, Window transparency?

How long do you typically wait before you see the subtitles become out of sync with playback?

Re: Issue: Subtitles Lag on Roku

Everything is set to auto. They are out of sync from the start, usually lagging by one block of text (i.e. a person will say A then B then C and the subtitles for A appear while B is being spoken, B shows up when C is being spoken, etc.).

Confirmed, subtitles lag both on my Roku 3 and on my parents' Roku 3. But no lag on Vudu for Android.

Great! If you can make the Roku asterisk button toggle subtitles and the down button hide the large and intrusive status bar while you're at it then I will happily remove any thoughts about switching movie players out of my head. :P

So I just got a TCL 55S405 Roku TV. Going through all the streaming channels, Vudu easily has the best layout and features. With one caveat that is driving me nuts. Subtitles. Every movie I watch, the subtitles are off by about 2 seconds. I can't seem to fix it. If anyone knows of a fix for this, please let me know. I can't always watch movies very loud and subtitles are a must sometimes. Hopefully an update or something can fix this.
