    I want HULU on Vudu!!!

So, I can watch some TV shows; Bones, Lie To Me, Fringe, Sanctuary, Family Guy, American Dad!, Burn Notice etc etc... you get the idea. I want it on Vudu and so I can rent/buy movies on Vudu and watch some TV shows on Hulu on Vudu. That's would be awesome and become a perfect box set.

HuLu on VUDU is one of the most requested features. I've played around with HuLu's service and I too do not like watching video on the PC for more that a few moments. I'd rather do it from my couch.

VUDU Labs would be the perfect area for HuLu, But remember that HuLu is a commerical service and probly has some complex licensing agreements.

I've used Boxee on my AppleTV to watch Hulu. Let's just say that I'd rather have the shows to actually purchase or rent. The quality of Hulu shows on the big TV screen is, IMHO, lacking. It would be nice to have but Vudu would get more revenue if they expanded the TV shows they have.

Re: I want HULU on Vudu!!!

As I said before, I'd also would like to see Hulu on Vudu, but I don't think their picture quality is an issue or that their business model interferes with Vudu's model. All I see, at first glance, is the potential for additional users for Vudu that would increase the user base. Hulu might see Vudu as another delivery medium for their content and might be willing to share a little bit of their revenue to add Vudu as one the delivery sources of their ad supported content. Vudu would get Hulu fans to buy the box and additional users to rent or buy Vudu content. In the mean time, those for whom picture quality is an issue can continue to get that quality via the other channels that Vudu provides. If the content of Hulu were to look poorly when delivered via the Vudu box it would be an incentive for Hulu to improve their picture quality. They're going to do it, anyway, to keep up with youtube HD. They have or are going to have the "money" to do it... they're growing very fast.

Are you sure you aren't referring to the "Hula" channel. I registered several thousand times and asked for that. I have this thing for grass skirts.

Hey Hodge. How did you take over my account?

Re: I want HULU on Vudu!!!

Whenever RIA gets out, it'd be interesting to see if we can get Hulu functionality. I'm not a huge fan of Hulu and other streaming sites due to their weird episode availability, but it's getting better (HD, please!).

Personally, I don't think it'd be as much of an issue for VUDU if their TV catalog was better. Given that Apple, Microsoft, Sony, and Amazon all have had no problems bringing TV content on board (incl. HD shows recently), I'd like to hope that VUDU tackles this next now that they got HD & HDX movies going.

Roku is adding more channels. It looks like they will also be adding youtube soon.

Even after rebooting and starting your system and router again, if you cannot fix the issue, then the problem might be with the DNS server. This requires a manual fix and also contact your internet service provider. To solve the DNS issue you can select a free DNS available in your system.

Thank you. I looked into the DNS issue and after tinkering around with it a bit I was finally able to get HULU on my VUDU! It's smooth sailing from here on out.

Many of not all of the shows you mention are on VUDU, to rent, buy or watch free... and they are not HULU productions.

HULU and VUDU, despite the similar names, are 2 separate companies and HULU requires a monthly subscriptions.

I would like to see, however, HULU and Netflix and Disney Plus and Apple TV, etc. treated like the other TV Networks (i.e. Fox, CBS, etc.), and their original content made available on VUDU to rent or buy (some of it is, but not all of it).

I was just trolling in my previous response as this is such an old thread it no longer makes sense.

This is from 2009, before Walmart had even purchased VUDU.

This was back when VUDU was still releasing their own hardware. They had a feature called "VUDU Labs" where they would allow users to test new apps and features for their hardware such as Pandora, YouTube, Flickr, Picasa etc.

Back then VUDU had channels for specific content like a Criterion Collection channel or the adult AVN channel. Eventually those channels went away or morphed into "collections" on the website, where they became more like a list rather than a separate channel. Back then HULU would have been perfect as a channel, especially since it was completely free back then.

Yeah, I was confused as well. It looks like the person who responded to this old thread meant to post it to a different thread. Revived it unintentionally I think.
