    Vudu App Interface & DTD

Interface needs updating. Many threads with ideas to improve the functionality of the Vudu App. Issues I have with Vudu.

My Vudu - Sorting titles alphabetically.

My Vudu - User ability to remove SD titles that have been upgraded to HDX. Delete movies they no longer want.

Browse - Add DTD to "Option" pull down menu on browse tab.

Quality - Add 3D to "Quality" pull down menu on browse tab.

DTD Schedule Page - Add DTD change information on titles so users know when a title is scheduled to be pulled or when a title is slated to become available. Keeping users in the dark usually causes more problems than it solves.

You have a couple good ideas there. I like the delete idea.

What is your source for your above statement? You say it like it's a fact only you know. I can't imagine how difficult it would be for a company to organize information about future endeavors in order to make customers aware of everything that would be coming up. What if things change, and a company can't do what it said it would? What about keeping competition in the dark? It doesn't seem to be high on any compan's list to make a point to tell customers what will be coming in the weeks or months ahead. Nothing specific, anyway.

Vudu knows the exact date they can start streaming and selling titles. Do they know the dates when a title is scheduled to be pulled from distribution in advance is the question. There has to be some kind of predetermined contractual schedule that all streaming services must abide by. If so the information would be beneficial to the Vudu users. Once you add a title via DTD or buy a title, It's yours and cannot be affected by changes in availability.

The DTD schedule page would allow people to add titles via DTD before they are pulled or changed. I have had several titles pulled before I could add them. Some while on my DTD My Movie List page which caused it to lockup. Took Tech Support better part of a day to resolve the issue. Even if they only listed titles pulled for known technical issues it would help reduce the support tickets and calls to the customer service line.

I do not believe this would have any impact on Vudu marketing. If anything it would increase sales and DTD adds before a title is pulled or downgraded to SD. Collectors collect. They do not like being told they cannot have what they collect. Sharing info with them makes good business sense.

OK. As long as you believe it to be true, you must be right.

I wonder if at Vudu's next board meeting they'll review your post and have a lightbulb go on? State your ideas and requests, but you are no better position than I am to state what is in Vudu's best interest.

I can post what I believe. As long as it falls within forum guidelines. We agree to disagree on the concept of DTD availability information sharing with users.

Free speech is a right given to you by the government, not by Vudu. The government can't infringe on your right to free speech. Vudu could delete both of our posts if they wanted to do so. We couldn't do anything about it. There's your civics lesson for the day.

Here's my "free speech": I doubt you'll get what you want by telling companies they don't know how to run a business, as you insinuated when you felt the need to tell them, "It's good business sense."

Like I said, I do like most of your ideas, especially the one about deleting content.
