Marvel D2D movies pulled from my Ultraviolet account!

I noticed that the total number of movies I had on uvvu.com appeared to have decreased then I noticed that the Marvel movies (except Thor) in my Vudu account lost their UV logo. So I went to uvvu.com and sure enough Iron Man, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America were gone from my UV account. They are still showing up in my Flixster (under unavailable movies). I contacted UV support and we will see what they say.

I only got Iron Man before they were pulled from D2D. I noticed a few days ago that my Flixster and UVVU counts were off by one and it was Iron Man missing. I think they were also pulled from UV when they were pulled from D2D. Which I'm guessing would never happen unless Paramount really didn't have the rights to use them in UV (or lost/sold them back to Marvel/Disney). Flixster and Vudu had already imported them so it remembers we had them. But I'm guessing they will be missing from all future UV apps as well until Marvel/Disney allows them back in UV.

This double sucks because any accounts linked to your UV account will no longer be able to see the movies (I checked). Only the account that you did D2D on has access now. Wasn't this one of the points of UV?. So you'd have a universal digital locker accessible from anywhere linked. This is not that different from the Itunes copies that came with the movies now. Just HD and through Vudu instead of Itunes.

We need an explanation of this! UV is being touted as a way to own movies in the cloud. If you own something, they can't take it back. This totally defeats the purpose if they can take it back, and I would ask for a refund.

An update: There are 26 movies available in the vudu Marvel comics collection, and some are still listed as UV. Did the titles that lost UV status also disapear from your vudu collection, or just your UV account?

It's just the 4 Marvel movies made by Paramount that should be affected (Iron Man 1 and 2, Captain America, and Thor). They were removed from D2D and lost their UV logo on Vudu right before Avengers came out. And either at the same time (and we didn't notice right away) or sometime later, they were removed from UVVU.com. Vudu and Flixster still see them (although Flixster could never play them anyway because they were Paramount).

Disney needs to get on board with UV... they are becoming less relavent in the entertainment feild then they seem to believe and I don't belive that the consumers will continue to tolerate their overblown sense of self importance.

I think they (Disney) just need to launch their Disney Studio All Access service and allow Vudu to be a provider for it. Been waiting close to if not a year for this service since it was first announced.

Yes I understand the fact that Marvel is owned by Disney and that this may have something to do with the fact that they were pulled; however, when they were originally pulled (after I purchased them) apparently someone from Vudu said it had something to do with a deal with HBO or something. The possible reasons are irrelevant to me however because when I paid for the movies they were on D2D/Vudu and every D2D movie is supposed to be UV compatible, which they were, and since I paid to have them put in my UV account I should have rights to the UV movies idefinitely, regardless of streaming movies deals/studio rights issues. This is the promise of UV and if I can just have movies I paid for pulled from my UV account with no explanation, this is a scary situation indeed. I understand the whole Paramount/Disney situation is complex and perhaps Paramount never technically had rights to distribute the Marvel movies on UV but like I said, I paid for them and therefore they should be mine. What is next? Are the movie studios going to come into my house and take DVD/Blu-rays from my collection that were discontinued at retail (I kid)? UVVU tech support has never got back to me and I am probably just going to be ignored. I am not going to ask for a refund because I still have the movies in Vudu and those four Marvel movies for $8 in HDX is still a great deal even without UV access. I see UV right now as a complement to physical media, not a replacement, and until the studios can prove to me that my collection is mine, which they have miserably failed in this regard, I will continue to consider it just a complement.

UV support doesn't seem to respond to anyone period. I've never heard of anyone successfully getting them to respond. My original UV account from back when Deathly Hallows 2 came out is gone forever since UV never responded when there was a problem with activating my account within the required time period. Vudu and Flixster will respond. UV, not so much.

UV tech support has responded to me in the past, and rather quickly, but their response was to take it up with Vudu of course...
