My D2D HDX movies are showing up as SD

I just noticed that I have seven movies in my collection that are showing up incorrectly. When I made my D2D list to take to Wal-Mart I clicked on BluRay, but when I go to watch the following movies they are showing up as SD. Is anyone else having the problem?

    30 Days of Night
    Superman: The Movie
    Friday (Director's Cut)
    Hustle & Flow
    Talladega Nights
    Zombie Strippers
Face Off (This one is showing HD, but again it should be HDX)

I have actually held off on D2Ding the below titles because when I go to add them to my D2D list they are showing as SD, even though I clicked on BluRay. Can one of the VUDU moderators get back to me on this.

    Walled In
    We Were Soldiers
    Sands of Oblivion
    Lies and Illusions
    Sex and Death 101
    The Lost
    Grace
    The Girl Next Door (2007)

A lot of the titles you mentioned are only available in SD, meaning you didn't look at the D2D screen closely when you purchased them.

I'm specifically holding off on Friday and Superman, amongst others, for this reason.

I have Annie, 30 Days of Night, Nightmare on Elmstreet 3 -- and several others that are HD in my UV locker, but Vudu only has SD files for those titles. If Vudu ever gets HDX version of those films, your library should automatically update from SD to HDX for those movies.

If it's only available in SD then why does it show as available in BluRay? It also shows on my D2D list as BluRay when I print it. It just shows up in my account as SD.

That's great to know. But, how do I know when that happens? Do I just keep checking to see or will VUDU email me or something? Also does that mean if I add my titles that I've been holding off on that they will automatically change to HDX when availably too?

It's "available in BluRay" in that you can use it as source material for a D2D transaction. Having BluRay as an option doesn't mean that the resulting title will be in HD, though.

There are a decent amount of titles, mainly from Sony and Warner, which have this issue. Besides the ones you mentioned, I'm specifically holding off on getting Exorcist, Silverado, Monty Python's Life Of Brian, Stripes, and others converted because I'm waiting on HD.

If you did them through vudu at Walmart they will not auto upgrade. Check your uv locker. If it only shows sd there it will always be sd on vudu even if they get an hd copy in the future. The only current way to get hd on some of those titles is to use cinemanow's home d2d app. Your uv locker is what controls what quality is shown by vudu. If you are only interested in hdx then make sure when you make your vudu list it shows hd. Some blu rays are only available in sd. If you d2d it as sd then you will need to do it again if an hd copy becomes available.

Wow, I guess I'll have to pay closer attention. I thought when I clicked on BluRay I would be getting HDX. Well I've D2D over 500 movies so I guess seven isn't that bad. I wish there was a list or something so I knew which ones to hold off on, short of searching them one by one I guess I'mm out of luck.

I still think that VUDU should auto upgrade them once they become available since they were listed on my D2D list as BluRay and Wal-Mart has already confirmed that I own the BluRay and stamped the discs.

Can't hurt to submit a support ticket for any that didn't grant HD rights on uvvu.com.

You have a receipt from wal-mart that should be in your e-mail if you lost it. Talk to them and ask them to remove the title from your account. If they say they don't know how then ask for a customer coutesy gift card for 2.00 or whatever you paid. They will more then likely do it. My wal-mart did that for me when i only ended up with SD with two of my titles. They gave me a 4.00 customer courtesy gift card.

Yes, this is something to watch.

                        Here is how it works.

D2D a title by looking it up.

Do you have BluRay or DVD?
                        -select corresponding title

Do you want the Vudu copy to be SD or HD?
                        -Select the corresponding button

If you do a transaction and end up with an SD, it is really hard to un-do. Plus, if you want to upgrade a Vudu SD into HD, you have to pay full price instead of the delta between the two prices.

I am always super carful when doing a D2D transaction. Remember, these titles will be in your UV locker for a VERY LONG TIME.

                        For me, it is worth the $3 to upgrade a DVD title into 1080p and I always elect to do so when that is an option. As mentioned before, there are a few titles where this is not an option. I have a few examples;

                        1) Jeremiah Johnson (1972)
                        2) Fun with Dick and Jane (2005)
                        3) Something's Gotta Give (2003)
                        4) Lemony Snicket: A Series of Unfortunate Events (2005)

I get what you guys are saying. I should have paid closer attention and believe me now I do

That being said, I own the bluray, I clicked on the bluray, Wal-Mart checked and stamped my bluray, but I only received SD. I just fully believe that vudu should, once HDX is available for those titles rather that be in a month or 2 years from now, automatically upgrade my SD over to HDX.

If it helps I still have all my D2D receipts showing it listed as bluray and then SD. I really wish one of the vudu reps would verify that they are willing to upgrade me and anyone else this has happended to, as I'm sure I'm not the only one

GREAT POINT!!!! I feel the same way.

I had HP & Deathly Hallows Part 2 in BluRay. I redeemed the UV via Flixster and found it was SD in my Vudu collection.

I had to lobby with Flixster Support who sent it to WB-UV support. It took about ten days of back and forth, but I do now have the HDX version.

I totally agree. If you own the BluRay media, you should be entitled to the HDX version when it becomes available at no additional cost. To get them to agree may take some back-n-forth though, when the time comes.

This happened to me tonight. After spending 1.5 hours waiting on the Walmart idiots to learn how to log into the system, then call several other employees over to try to help them, they sort of got it to work. I took 9 blu-rays in to do the D2D, and had my list printed out. All of the titles had "HD" selected for $2, but now when I look at the titles, 2 of them show up as SD.

                              The Sentinel
                              Aliens (Special Edition)

Can a VUDU rep comment on this?
