I love how The Wolverine is now d2d when the blu ray isn't even out yet

My Total Recall DVD (single sided DVD) with UPC: 012236200062 worked.

None of the newer titles - Pain & Gain, EPIC, Much Ado 2012 - work at all on D2D.

They never do. There are dozens of titles that are D2D in name only. For home conversion anyway.

I have the same problem with a different movie. On vudu I have the 94 version of Miracle on 34th St. On TT it shows up as the 47 version, so I can't but that version of the film. I wonder what would happen if I bought the 94 version of it from TT.

Re: Direct-to-Digital list and other utilities (Error Tracker, Redemption Log)

Thanks, guys, for keeping track of this. I have been reading the forums for months now, but just joined tonight. I had my local Walmart do the disc to digital transfer for the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2, blu ray, but when I got home, it was not among the films transferred. So I filed an incident report, and the helpful techs said that I already had Superman 2 in my 1012 movie collection. No kidding...I added that months ago. I got on the phone with "Eric" and had to explain the difference between the two movies. He promised he would have the technicians look into it, after I sent a photo of the disc and a copy of my receipt. Has this happened to others?

BTW, I often bring ten discs at a time into Walmart when my computer fails to read them, but I never get a cost reduction or credit. When I asked for a credit the last time, I was told the promo of $1 per disc is only for those people using the Beta version at home. What gives? Several people have reported in the forums they got credit from Vudu towards future purchases.

Looks like someone has already reached out to the content team for more information regarding the Richard Donner cut this morning. We'll keep you posted on what we hear back.

As for the discount going on with the beta program. VUDU will not apply a refund or credit for the difference if you convert at a Walmart store.

Well keep on fixing the discs that don't scan in the program (even though they should) and I won't have to go to Wal-Mart (cause trust me, I never liked going to Wal-Mart to do this?)

Thanks, Dan, I appreciate the support. Actually, this afternoon I spoke with Vudu again. They claimed that I already had Superman 2 in my collection, but when I pointed out it was the Richard Lester version, their tone changed. They were not able to give me the Richard Donner cut of Superman 2. They claim the movie is no longer available for the Disc to Digital transfer (even though it still appears in the list). I really do wish someone would get their story straight. Very frustrated with this issue.

I did try several additional discs: I have both the regular release and the extended versions of the LOTR (blu ray and DVD). No luck in loading any of the extended version to Vudu, except the regular release. I also have the special edition of Aliens. No luck in loading this one either. So now I just have the regular release of Aliens in my collection. I am always out there talking up the Vudu service, but alas I am starting to see its limitations.

Can someone tell me if this is normal behavior? For most newer DVD's, I do not seem to be able convert them to Digital using VUDU to go. However, I use the same DVD on the Flixster Disc to Digital app and it works fine. Since I have used up all of my free Flixster conversions, I'd much rather take the discount using VUDU. Some of the newer titles this has happened to me with are: Django Unchained, Silver Linings Playbook, and Epic.

I also seem to see random issues with the older two sided DVD's not being able to be identified, but the Flixster app seems to always identify them the first time. Examples: Night Shift, Risky Business. I also tried 3 or 4 times with "The Outsiders" two sided DVD, and finally did get that to get recognized with VUDU.

I love the concept of this, but it is frustrating when a competing app just seems to work so much better. I'm just curious if everyone sees this behavior, or is it just me. Thanks.

It's normal, VUDU is by far the best app, but when it comes to digital conversions they are the worst. The other apps work much better for the conversion process but I believe VUDU is your only option for HD and the other apps may cost more. Flixster does a great job of identifying the disc that are not eligible with thier app and letting you know. They ask if you would like to be notified when the disc becomes eligible.

The two sided disc may work on one side and not the other so turn them over.

There are a lot of frustrating things about this process like a movie that cost $5 dollars at the store with the digital copy included. That same movie if you just buy the digital copy may cost $15 or higher on all the digital retailers. It cost a dollar and change to rent a movie at red box but $4.99 to rent it over the streaming services. I think in the end it's a totally awesome, convenient, legal and entertaining way to watch and collect your movies.

Since I am new to the forum & D2D home conversion about how long does it take after you report a title that it can't read to be added.

I still need the "Look Who's Talking" HDX to be recognized so I can get the 50% discount. Not sure how long it will take them to add it.
