Disc to Digital Titles: Indiana Jones

I have been checking each and every day to see if "Raiders of the Lost Ark" or any of the other Indiana Jones films had been released on the Disc to Digital Title List, so that I could transfer my Blu-Ray copies. But alas, nothing. Today, when I went on the VUDU site to look at possibly purchasing "Raiders," I noticed Jan 28 was listed under SD. The same was true for the other Indiana Jones films. Does that mean Indy is finally making the D2D title list at the end of the month?

Unfortunately no. The Indiana Jones movies are not ultraviolet titles, which is a requirement for the disc to digital program (although maybe not true for a few rare titles based on a few posts here). The recent individual Bluray releases came with iTunes codes. I am not expecting a change anytime soon. For some reason (probably financial), the digital SD copies are being released about a month after the HD copies were released.

        One can hope though.

From the Disc to Digital Faq
The list of movies available for Disc to Digital conversion is comprised of titles that have been legally cleared for digital distribution from studios participating in the UltraViolet program. We expect the number of titles available for Disc to Digital conversion to grow over time.

New batch added to the catalog but they are all 2013/2014 releases. Which means they most likely will not actually work with the D2D program...yet.

I don't think there are any new D2D titles. I am thinking that there might be some added soon based on the titles that Vudu has been adding lately. Several of the new titles added last week were UV, titles like For Richer or Poorer, EDTv, The Money Pit, and The Dream Team. Since they are all from Universal, perhaps we will have a batch of new D2D titles soon.

                        Pirate Radio
I think all of these are on there, just with alternate titles:

You can check for mismatched titles by using the content id from the URL. So, if you find Pirate Radio on VUDU's site at:

                        http://www.vudu.com/movies/#!content/172108

You can search for the content id (172108) on the google doc list using ctrl+f (or cmd + f on mac) if you don't find the title in the list.

I've actually added (self) SMS alerts for when VUDU adds any content (new titles to stream) or catalogs (listings in their D2D service by movie title and/or multiple disc UPCs.) And it's been pretty quiet, I think one new disc version was added for Shaolin Warrior since the last update on the 10th.

Re: Disc to Digital Title List

Just for the sake of conversation, I'm truly stunned by the presence of so many obscure titles while numerous obvious, popular movies remain absent. I'll assume the Marvel titles (Captain America, etc) are a licensing issue, but honestly, most of Mel Brooks's flicks aren't listed! I can D2D High Anxiety, Robin Hood: Men in Tights and Dracula: Dead and Loving it, but gems like Young Frankenstein and Spaceballs aren't there. Crazy. I know they can't realistically cover everything, much less within a short timeframe, but still, there are some titles you'd just think would've been top-o-the-heap from the get-go.

And oh boy, would I ever love it if they hired someone to go through and fix all the version errors. Y'know, extended or director's cuts being read as standard editions, etc. A rep told me that you can get around that by completing the conversion, then taking a picture of the correct disc and sending it in to them. Haven't tried that yet, but if it works as stated, I can think of a few movies right off the bat I'd want to fix. Ghost Rider, Hellboy and Watchmen (yeah, I'm a comic and pulp buff).

I volunteer to do this for Vudu.
