Vudu customer service told me that when you d2d a movie you are getting the rights on Vudu and will always have the vudu rights but the UV rights are separate.
That isn't the way it's been explained in the past. Once it's loaded into your UV locker it's there for good is my understanding.

I was correct. Here is exactly what Vudu says on their Disc-to-Digital page:
UltraViolet is the industry standard for storing your movies in the cloud. All Disc to Digital titles and movies* you own on VUDU are now UltraViolet compatible.

Yes I know there are rare exceptions, but they are not supposed to exist, especially a new addition like Gremlins.

Ok regardless of how its explained or whats written down I do not have those titles in my uv locker anymore and they were there before. Also the "proof" you have doesn't say anything about a title remaining in your locker, it just says that all d2d titles on vudu are UV compatible but we know thats not true either.

Yep. I've brought up the same issue up before with h&k extended.

            RE: Gremlins

This Movie has been UV in the U.K. for at least the past year, so it should be made UV in the US at some point if there is any logic to this all. You can see this at Amazon UK.

I don't know why so many people are complaining about this happening. We have over 1300 movies and we keep track of how many titles we have (1335 to be exact) and it NEVER changes. Could it be that people are searching for a moving that is currently not available on Vudu and when it doesn't pull the movie up they think they don't have it?

For people with large libraries, I suppose that could be it. It is hard to search just your library. I have thought some of my movies had disappeared, only to find them looking more carefully.
There does seem to be some looseness around the edges of the UV system that pops up in a very very small number of cases, where things are not always as they should be.

Seems like that would be a "bug" or glitch that needs to be fixed quickly. UV is not that difficult and it's written in plain English on Vudu's website and on UV's website. When you own a UV title you own it forever. They don't sell it to you today and take it away tomorrow. If this truly is happening then they MUST get that corrected and that would explain why a lot of people don't like UV.

The way it's suppose to work is when you purchase a title (or convert using D2D) that is UV then it's in your UV locker and available on all UV retailers for streaming or download "forever".

This was an issue early last year when about 4 movies completely disappeared from our UV accounts and lost UV status. They were just gone. They ended up replacing There's Something About Mary-Extended with the Theatrical and then the extended version regained UV status and popped back into my UV account a few months later. Same with The Hills Have Eyes-Unrated. Harold and Kumar-extended is the one movie that never got UV status back and never popped back in to my UV account. It's a rare (and possibly only) case of a movie getting removed completely from UV. This was also back in the time when UVVU worked still and I could still see/search my whole library and it did well and truly disappear.

                    I found the thread HERE

It's not a case of losing track of a movie in UVVU's horrid website.

Re: Disc to Digital Title List

The only possible justification I can see is if giving those titles UV status was a mistake on Vudu's part, in which case no one should have had them in the first place, UV rights for those movies were never Vudu's to give. It still makes me rather uncomfortable though. UVs perception is really delicate right now and incidents like these need to be avoided at all costs if UV is to see mass adoption.

So is Gremlins 2, but Gremlins 2 still isn't available for D2D.

The Color Purple just popped in to my account. Hopefully it goes d2d soon.

Likewise for THE BRIDGES OF MADISON COUNTY, another WB title I D2D'ed last week which wasn't showing up as UV at the time. Anyone see either of these push over to CinemaNow, Target Ticket or Flixster by any chance?

Update: GREMLINS just popped up in my Flixster account, so it does appear to be pushing out.
