New titles never read, you have to take them in store.

New titles as in 2013 and beyond ... Yes. This is a 1984 title though. 😉

It's not just movies that were made after 2013, it's most movies added after 2013.

Yep. Doesn't matter when the movie was made. If the DVD or Blu Ray were first pressed after the introduction of the home software they won't read with a couple exceptions. The Croods and Bad Grandpa read but that is because the movies originally read as the wrong movies. For some reason they were able to fix a few of those errors to the correct movie.

Doesn't really matter anymore with them only adding 7 or so movies since late July it looks like they are pretty much done with this. Hopefully it won't be like Walmart music and Vudu doesn't just get dropped entirely!

It's weird, online streaming is the future and yet Walmart isn't pushing Vudu as hard as they should. I think consumer awareness of Vudu is quite low. For example, on the 'How did this get made' podcast, Paul Scheer is always saying where you can see the movie they are discussing that week and he always mentions all the online avenues. He'll mention "Itunes, Youtube...", but never mentions Vudu. He was trying to get people to buy his own short comedy film, 'CrashTest'. He kep saying it was available on Vimeo and Itunes, but never once mentioned that it was also available for sale on Vudu. Vudu offers a much better product than Itunes (Aspect ratio is the only category where Itunes beats Vudu, hands down. Itunes has far more movies in the correct Aspect Ratio than Vudu does). To watch Itunes movies on your TV you need AppleTV....and let's be honest....not many people have AppleTV. How many people do you know? How many of them have AppleTV? For me the answer is about 3 or 4 of them. Vudu offers Digital movies on almost any device. Blu-Ray Players, Roku, ChromeCast, PS3 and PS4....therefore it's more accessible to the masses. And yet consumer knowledge is lower. Why is that? If Walmart were to drop Vudu, they'd be fools. Vudu could be the king of online streaming with the proper promotion

It will take more than promoting the brand. The whole UltraViolet experience is STILL very unpleasant with the frustrating process to setup and link accounts...especially when trying to share movies with family members! UltraViolet continues to roll out half baked crappy websites that don't make it easy to manage your digital locker. Vudu continues to ignore issues as well. We have over 1700 movies and have invested a lot of money moving our movie and television collection to Vudu and it's often a real pain to find what we want to watch. I am afraid that we have wasted our money and time on this. Online streaming is an awesome idea! If only the online streaming companies had some real professionals building their interfaces...I don't think it would take much promoting after that. Problem is that so many people have already had a bad first and last experience with UltraViolet and one or more of the various online streaming companies that they may not be willing to try it again...much the same way that I had a very bad experience with iTunes and will NEVER try it again.

I have no clue what you are talking about. I have never had any trouble at all setting up or linking accounts. What's so difficult about it? I find it to be so easy.

While it use to be confusing in the past, at least you could stumble into getting it to work on the old UltraViolet website, but have you tried recently? Now, it appears that UltraViolet doesn't allow you to link new accounts from their new (but still crappy) site. Vudu has the ability to "invite" people by their email address. But it doesn't work. We spent four hours last night fighting with it and when we clicked the link in the email to accept the invitation it kept breaking the Vudu link to our UltraViolet link. Technology is supposed to make our lives easier and is intended to be easy to do, but linking accounts AND trying to work with a large collection of movies is....well, terrible is the only word I can come up with.

It's quite easy to add new members to your account.

Step 1. Create a new account on UV.com

                            https://www.myuv.com/en/us/signup

Step 2. Merge the new account into yours.

Step 3. Link new UV account to whichever service you want.

If they want to use vudu, it's even easier. Just send an invitation.

Obviously there is more to it than just sending an invitation. Like I said, the accept invitation doesn't work.
